You are entitled to your own opinion, but my take on your post is that no matter what cooks whip up, I doubt that it will ever be as good as Android. Most cooked roms are out there to "fix" something that is on stock ROMs. Different OS version, removal of crapware, few fixes here and there that just create more issues down the line. So far, after playing with few Android devices, they all seem to be much smoother and better user experience than my TP2. Even my mom's G1 kicks my TP2's ass.

Also, the Win7 thing is just a faint hope. I knew that XDA had some progress, but it's still a longshot.

Disclaimer: This is just my opinion. Opinions are like *******s. Everyone has one and they all stink. I've been an avid WM supporter but there's nothing left in WM world to hold anyone. Apps suck and there's no central place to get them from. Constant freezes/reboots/slowdowns are just too much for me.

Re: Extremely curious to what you would do- POLL

Even though I've never used an Android device, coming from WinMo for the past 2 years I can safely cast my vote for the Evo, and I'm getting mine on the 4th as well so I can finally take a sledgehammer to my POS WinMo phone. It was really cool at first and seeing all the little programs out there available for a WinMo phone is what sold me in the first place, but in my experience using the phone I became aware of the inevitable fact that . . . it's still WINDOWS! It shares the same problems just like its desktop counterpart. I always found it pretty ridiculous that I had to reboot my phone so often because it got really slow, or was freezing, or whatever. I get so frustrated with that damn thing so often I'm just done with it.

I'm counting down the days to the 4th and in the meantime I'm thinking of an appropriate method of death for my current phone for all the headaches it's caused me. Time to get creative . . .

If you still have HTC Touch (Vogue), there's a 100% functional Android port for it. Try it

Re: Extremely curious to what you would do- POLL

Went from PalmOS to WM and soon I'll be on Android. Seems like a logical progression. I've wanted an Android device for a while, but wanted to wait for the OS to mature a little and find a device worthy of running it fast. The Evo with 2.1 (2.2 soon enough) fits those needs nicely. I am divorcing my old WM and getting a nice younger model

Wirelessly posted (HTC Diamond: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows CE; IEMobile 7.11) Sprint MP6950SP)

I'd try the HD2 1st!!
I'm really curious how WinMo would run on Sprint's network with the faster processor and other hardware upgrades.

Re: Extremely curious to what you would do- POLL

I got the final push this Sunday. Over 4 years with WinMob, hacking away to try and make it better. My Touch had some issue and partly stopped working. I couldn't open the messaging, initiate voice command or open texts. It wouldn't recieve them either. Internet worked, everything else worked, even GPS. Hard reset time again. Restored a recent backup and it all quit working again. Hard reset, tried an older backup-same issue. Repeat 3 more times. Bit the bullet and hard reset and began installing programs one at a time from scratch. Here it is Wednesday night and I'm still not done. I basically gave up trying to tweak it back. I got it going enough to get me by for the next week or so and the EVO hits. It's either the EVO (I want to see it in person first) or a Hero, because I just like its design. Android is the future, for me and as I see here in this forum a great many others.

Re: Extremely curious to what you would do- POLL

After having WM for quite some years, I've just grown away from it.....the OS just isn't there for me. Hell, I've been growing away from the Windows platform period for some time....I even thought about buying a Mac.
Anyway, I've been thinking about going Android for a little while, but while Sprint only had the Moment and the Hero, I wasn't gonna do it.
Now!....Lol....they come with this powerhouse!

But really, I'm definitely looking forward to going Android.
