Re: Official Telus Diamond Thread

Ok, boy am I glad that I have virtually nothing on my xp box. I run kubuntu on it and just set it up for dual boot for situations just like this. I hadn't even shut off the system restore so I just went back to a restore point and reinstalled QPST, and the diagnostic drivers, ran through the steps and now the GPS works. Thanks for the help!!

Re: Official Telus Diamond Thread

I was just wondering if anyone has tried using touchpal on their diamond? I think that this is by far the best soft keyboard and If it didn't work in vga then I might be forced to buy the Touch Pro.

Re: Official Telus Diamond Thread

I suppose it's smart of Telus to remove QuickGPS from the diamond. Now you are sort of forced into using thier navigator.

On the other hand, it's a pain for me to get it to work again! I found the cab file, but it says I need some certificate.

Since none of the other posts got any responses, no one has figured out how to get QuickGPS to work.

I have TomTom7 (from the OP -- thanks btw) but no maps. So if anyone out there has it working, is QuickGPS needed for TomTom or does it find satallites quickly? Say, under 30 seconds?

Maybe when the Sprint Diamond comes out you can take it off that?? According to Pg 175 of the Sprint Diamond Manual, it will have QuickGPS.

Good point. Maybe it can be taken from there with the right certificate attached. I'm not sure how certificates work.

Although, the down side is that our manual has QuickGPS on pg103.

I have TomTom7 up and running, no QuickGPS. I generally get locks in less than a minute, but it depends a LOT on where I am at the time.

Myke...

Re: Official Telus Diamond Thread

I can tell you for a FACT that telus wanted to disable GPS
Code:
 <!--20080603, NEON_C ITS 264 request by Tunghao -->
 <characteristic type="Registry">
      <characteristic type="HKLM\SOFTWARE\HTC\SUPL AGPS" translation="filesystem">
         <noparm  name="ServerIP" />
       <noparm  name="ServerPort" />
  </characteristic>
 </characteristic>
And for some reason they intentionally disabled threaded text!?
Code:
 <!--20080625 Victor_C ITS:2854 Hermann_C ITS:1028 NEON_C ITS:671-->
 <characteristic type="Registry">
   <characteristic type="HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Inbox\Settings\OEM">
       <parm name="SMSInboxThreadingDisabled" datatype="integer" value="1" />
    </characteristic>
 </characteristic>
