WM6 HTC Home, Hard resets

Well, I guess I will post here. I am running WM6 with the default build from the almighty helmi_c. But, I too have had to do hard resets often. I have decided to uncheck the HTC home, which sucks because I too like it a lot. Has anyone figured out why it is doing that yet? Is it the weather panel? I have noticed it happens most when my battery is either low or dies then powering it up is when it locks up. I do a hard reset and presto everything starts working again for a few days until my battery dies.

1. Dont let your battery die.
2. WP has been known to cause alot of issues with HTC Home.
3. Has unchecking HTC Home changed/improved any of your results?

htc home is absolutely awesome, but I agree, unfortunately, it appears to freeze things up in its current state. Remember things are really young for us and wm6 at this point.

HTC Home

On the patches thread I posted this problem - and member DC responded with a solution to this by using a boot in safe mode program and during safe mode disable the HTC Home Plug-In and then once you boot up normally check HTC Home and it works without problem.

I followed his fix and to date I have using the Home Plug-In without problem.

I do not know what this fix tells about the problem but the fix works.

Thanks again DC.

Yeah, I know. I just want to help make it better. I am not a programmer but, I love to test. So, I feel the more information we can provide many someone can figure out where the problems are. I think that hard resetting every so often is a big deal in my mind.

But, right now since I unchecked HTC home from my today screen I have been running pretty smooth. I like WM6.

Same here, as long as I don't use HTC home, things run fine.

For a while I thought that I was the only one having this problem. During the past week, I think I've had to hard reset about five times, which, as you all know, is extremely frustrating.

I guess I'll try the "safe-mode" program, although I have been using iLauncher (which has a built-in safe mode) and it does not help any.

Ok, I just want to make sure that when everyone is talking about hard-resetting in this thread, they are actually talking about a true hard-reset... i.e. Clearing all data on the device with the two softkeys and reset button? Not just a soft-reset with the stylus...
The reason I ask is because since using wm6 (the day it was released till now) I have only had to do that once and it was caused (i think) by a sipchange program and/or pcm keyboard. So, if everyone that is having this problem with HTC Home could post all of the programs they have installed, and categorize them by listing the ones that run on startup, the ones w/ active today plug-ins, and the ones that are installed on the storage card, maybe that would help narrow it down to what program is causing the conflict.
Also, if you refer to a post in a diff thread, it is always helpful to provide a link. I know the new search features make it easy to find the posts in reference, but it still would help.
As for me, the only things on my today screen are HTCHome, Today Agenda, and Device Lock (just the stock one).
Nothing is installed on storage card
The only programs running on startup (according to MemMaid) are those that are installed by default. i.e. poutlook.lnk, 228.lnk, custTDYTSK.exe

perhaps you lot should try the HTC Plus plugin...

http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=7867

kinda neat..

not a bad plug alternative..

(btw, i have no problems with the lock ups any more.. perhaps its because i never use WP... good luck)
