Thumbs up Audio Recording

This is just a "give back" post, to let you guys know my findings;

I have been looking for a way to use my TP2 to record business meetings, and phone calls - as I have really good memory, but it just doesn't last! LOL. Which means I forget what was said.

I considered a 3rd party hardware product such as one from Sony, or Olympus or Yamaha. They range in price from around $70 to $400 and can record in stereo, BUT you need to carry another gizmo, they can't record phone calls (unless on speaker), are clumsy to use with phone, and expensive. Plus they are hardly "stealth"

The TP2's in-built recorder just sucks. It can't work with the screen off and can't record phone calls, can't select recording codec, like MP3, etc.

*** NOT RECOMMENDED ***

I looked at programs from VITO, and in fact purchased the license, but it is currently useless. It won't accept KBD input, so I couldn't enter my reg key! Plus it didn't record the incoming voice of the phone calls! Not recommended - until these points are fixed by the author.

Then I bought Resco's Audio Recorder. At $25 it is dearer than Vito's, but it works! Phone calls are auto recorded, and supports MP3, OGG and many other codecs. So I am happy to recommend it!

Disclaimer: I have no commercial interest in any of the products I have mentioned.
