Hi quick question, are you using the new March 19th Sprint WM6.5 ROM update on your TP2, and if so can you confirm that the CM_Killer still works on this release?

Thanks,

some carriers use resProxy to make sure the cmgaurdian is running, so that cab will disable both the resproxy and cmgaurdian. since resproxy was something I have been disabling anyway, it made sense to put them together.

Thanks, but I am trying to find out if this has been proven to work on a Touch Pro 2 with the new Sprint WM6.5 ROM update. I can try it for you if you can tell me how to confirm for certain that it took or not. Other than just trying to run ICS. Which seems to work just by adding the DWORD value name Flags set to 4 in the CMGuardian key and then the usual edits in the InternetSharing key without running any cab at all.

Thanks,

Thanks,

sorry, I miss-read. this will do everything except the ics stuff, but yes, thats a classic test to see if your tweaks stick after reboot. apparently this rom is less paranoid than the last few from sprint, so while the dummy file may not be needed, it does offer peice of mind that it is definitally not doing anything...

Re: HTC_CM_Killer

Ok I guess I am not saying this right. What I was trying to find out was if anyone had used the CM Guardian killer cab on the new Sprint March 19th WM6.5 ROM update, and have been able to determine whether it still works or not. Since I can already tether without using it, I don't know how to tell for sure.

I have installed it and tried to change the Operator Name from Sprint to something else, but it changes right back within minutes, so I guess it either didn't kill it or that registry edit is being watched by something else.

And just to let you know, I have tried the CMProxyKiller cab and it will not install. It starts and then just says "Installation of Shaggylive CMProxyKiller cab was unsuccessful".

I have never seen a cab that won't install before.

Thanks,

Im using it on the sprint 6.5 rom. Whether it works or not I dont know. I could tether before without it and no extra charges.

not sure why the install failed, but the operator name will always revert back to your carrier. the only way to make that change somewhat permanent is to change it via something like qpst.

Re: HTC_CM_Killer

Would someone be kind enough to post the original "HTC_CM_Guardian.exe" file that comes from Sprint TP2 with Windows mobile 6.5? Thank you.
