Re: HTC_CM_Killer
how can you verify HTC_CM_Guardian.exe is running? i checked with various task manager tools and i don't see it running on a stock wm 6.5 rom. does this .exe run hidden where task managers can't pick it up or something?

Re: HTC_CM_Killer
well, I still have yet to go 6.5 so I couldn't say for sure, but I think it's in a dll for that. hmm, I thought I had included the dummy dll, but I guess not. regardless the latest sprint rom was not cooked very well and aparently the old reg edits are all that's needed.

Re: HTC_CM_Killer
yeah all i have is a HTC_CM_Guardian.dll
pretty sure there is no .exe in 6.5 running (at least on sprint).. all i set was the CMGuaridan regisrty to disable and all seems fine (no CM running or settings being reverted). |
Re: HTC_CM_Killer
After installing CMProxyKiller cab on the Sprint 6.5 ROM I still had "CM Guardian(AP22:)" Service running after soft reset. I went into the FdcSoft Task Manager and stopped the service and set it to Manual. Then I did a soft reset. It looks like the service is still there but it is not started and it is still Manual.

unless your profile info is just outdated, you may not even need this 'fix'. do you currently have a cmguardian file in your windows dir? |
Re: HTC_CM_Killer
its easy to disable it, but not required.
cm guardian runs an xml when you exit connections manager or reboot. the xml is mapped in the registry. I use it to restore my password when windows decides to clear it. on verizon/alltel roms its connections.xml. sprint is SPCSconnections.xml |
