I downloaded "freecaddie" about 10 days ago, and have used it on three different courses. Rock solid for me ... can't believe it was totally free. I use it with a black screen background (easy to see), manually advance the next hole, and turn it off in between strokes. The battery is still above 50%, even after a four hour round. By the way, my playing partners and I really checked the distances closely with course markers, and found them incredibly accurate. Good stuff ... and really hard to beat free.

depending on the amount of sats. it can come about 3-4yards difference between the skycaddie, the golfgps on an Iphone

Another program you guys might want to look at is Gudensoft Golf GPS. It's also free and works pretty well. There is not a pay version of this program so all the features are included free of charge.

I used to use FreeCaddie, but I switched to Golf GPS. Just thought I'd throw another option out there.

I tried going to GUdensoft website and got errors. I thought it was my work PC so I tried to go there with my phone and still got the same error. Did he move it with no redirect or is it just not being developed anymore? http://www.gudensoft.com
