Re: Google Voice?

Just checked off there site. $9.99 Is a good reasonable offer I guess... I'll give a while before I'll give a go, In that case, wondering how long that limited offer is though...

Re: Google Voice?

Curious folks, I see two different dialers:

www.gvdialer.com
&
http://www.brianhama.com/GVoiceDialer.aspx

Has anyone used either of them? If so what was your experience?

Is there any buzz about a native windows mobile Google Voice application coming?

Thanks,
T_O

I use GVDialer and love it. It takes a few extra minutes to call someone (the phone dials out, GVdialer catches it - hangs up and then places the call with your GV number).

I like it too, and noticed that the blackberry version has sms. Will the windows mobile version get it eventually too? Any word on that? thanks

Edit: One thing I noticed that I dont like is that when it does that split second call and end thing, the other person's phone rings once and displays your real number. I can see people getting really annoyed with that.

The calling card cab option avoids that, but I dont like that unless you are calling a number that is in your contacts, you cant use the calling card option. Unless I am missing something..

Google Voice - ANOTHER way to dial out?

I did a search on this and poked around some of the other threads and couldn't find anything.

Since there is no official Google app for winmo, there is no easy, bug-free, way of dialing your contacts. Well I have a couple solutions:

1) Use the "406" number to call your contacts. When someone texts you, you will get a reply back from a 406 area code (they may have more than just 406, but that's all I've seen). If you call that number back it will call your contact and show that the call is coming from your Google Voice number.

2) A much more crude way to do it... just add a new phone number to your frequently called contacts with the following format: googlevoicenum+pause+2+pause+contactphone+#

Re: Google Voice - ANOTHER way to dial out?

Just go to the Google Voice Mobile website. Thats the easy bugfree way of doing it. Although you need to be syncing your contacts up with google, which I do.

I've tried that 3 or 4 times and it has never worked. The phone I'm calling rings, but when it's picked up I hear my cell phone's (my google voice cell phone) voicemail. It's like the call isn't coming through on my cell phone. Are you using Opera or IE?

I am using Opera and it works. When you are on the mobile web page, make sure you go to Settings and make sure your "My MObile Number" is your cell phone number.

make sure your not in 1x. calls won't come in with active data (data connection can exist, just no traffic)
