Can we receive text or calls while using this wifi router?
You can BUT because CDMA technology currently does not allow simultaneous voice/data connections it will end the data connection when your phone rings or you receive a text message. It will continue where it left off when the text is received or the phone call ends or is ignored.

Re: New HTC WIFI Router software makes WMWifiRouter obsolete

How am I supposed to use this longer than 5 minutes if it drains power faster than the phone can charge using the AC adapter? Are there any tweaks out that that will overcome this issue?

Re: New HTC WIFI Router software makes WMWifiRouter obsolete

you have couple options my friend:
1.Get a fan, kep your TP open and let air blow
2.Put your TP on an ice pack
3.Keep some spare batties
4.A new radio .....

Aint no tweak that is going to aleviate the prob entirely.

Also using mine with an iPod Touch - using a Diamond + most recent stock Spint ROM.

Purchased WMWiFiRouter and had been using it with no problems, but very recently was having trouble maintaining Wifi signal. My Diamond's Wifi icon has been constantly "searching". This little app connected quickly and with no problems.

I wrote to the WMWiFiRouter support group for some help to resolve the problem because I would still like to use the WMWiFiRouter app -it's more flexible - but the HTC one will do in a pinch.

Re: New HTC WIFI Router software makes WMWifiRouter obsolete

Has anyone had success running this on a Verizon TP with the stock Verizon ROM (MR1)? I can only find references for VZW and custom ROMs and I just spent weeks getting my apps and settings just right and don't want to flash for a while now.

You're saying heat is the reason why my phone will not charge?

You should be able to plug it in, turn on wifisharing and if you are near 100%, you could surf for a hour only dropping 20% or so....Dissipating heat is a good idea tho

Re: New HTC WIFI Router software makes WMWifiRouter obsolete

My life would be complete if HTC could redesign EVERY part of Windows Mobile to use their sleek/finger friendly interface. I'm a very UI oriented guy, so I'm willing to forget about some of the features on WMWiFiRouter and use this.

Thanks for the post

When they get hot they stop charging so I just keep a fan blowing on my phone and it stays 100% the whole time.
