Re: Google Voice Dialer for WM

I have been using GVdialer for about a month and love it. No issues to report aside from having to wait an additional 5 - 10 seconds when dialing. GVdialer intercepts your call, dials your google voice number and then dial the number you are really trying to dial. At $10 it is worth it and it helps with tranisitioning everyone to your new GV number.

Re: Google Voice Dialer for WM

I didn't see anything for sms in gvdialer, but it only claims to be for dialing soo.. lol.
I haven't done any sms on gv yet, other than the transcribed vm's.. I love that.

I actually remove gvdialer today.. I didn't like how it was working.. you would hit dial then gvd would hang up the call then dial out via gv. sometimes it wouldn't respond fast enough and the ring would get through. I think i'll try that other dialer until this one is updated.
also I would like better options for certain contatcts to be direct dial or gv dial. gv isn't the best for long IVR sessions.

Re: Google Voice Dialer for WM

On the google voice site, in there suggest a feature page is an option for suggesting a windows mobile application.

On a slightly related but not note, I found that you could use an SIP program to route Gizmo to your phone over the net with very little lag both over wifi and evdo if you ever find yourself in a spot where there's wifi but no cell and then use the mobile interface to initiate the call.

So SMS still uses your phone number when you send it from your phone. GVdialer does not have a SMS function.

But if you send an SMS from the GV WEB page you get all response on the phone and via the WEB page. And you can continue the SMS thread via your phone or from the web page.

One last thing... the trial only last for 30 days no matter if you rebuild your phone or not. It seems the cab file is built with the initial date coded in.

Well, there's now a Google Voice Mobile App... only problem is it's for BB and Android. Hopefully there will be a WM version soon.

Introducing the Google Voice mobile app

Wednesday, July 15, 2009 | 8:08 AM

Thanks to some great work by the Google Mobile team, we now have a Google Voice mobile app for Blackberry and Android-powered phones. The mobile application makes using Google Voice with your cell phone simpler by letting you place calls and send SMS messages directly from your Google Voice number. You can call from your phone's address book or enter in numbers directly, and your outbound calls will display your Google Voice number as the caller ID. You can also listen to your voicemail and read transcriptions of your messages. Check out the video below and read more on the Official Google Blog. To get a free Google Voice mobile app for your phone, go to m.google.com/voice
