Thanks. (and by thanks, I mean I actually hit the Thanks button on your post)
I have yet to get my GV invite but when I do I would like to try this idailer app. So all you have to do is install login to your GV and that's it? How is the whole set up the idailer app work?

Re: Google Voice Sending Invites Today

Does anyone know if they have 319 area codes yet? When I signed up for it originally 2 years ago they didn't.

Lightbulb Re: Google Voice Sending Invites Today

Googlevoice just twit on twitter "just launched the ability to change your google voice number. Your old number stays active for 90 days. Just got to settings > phone"
So now it looks like you can change your google voice number! Com'n google send me my freaking invite hope this info helps someone

*Added from boygeniusreports*

Well it’s not incoming number portability but it’s better than
nothing… While the Google Voice team continues to battle through a
massive back log of customers itching for their invites, a nifty new
feature popped up today for current Google Voice users. Love the service
but hate your number? Well now you can change it on the Phones tab
under Settings . There is a one-time fee of $10 to change your number
but it’s a small price to pay. If you need help picking a new Google
Voice number, there’s even a great little number picker tool that lets
you type out words and try to snag their corresponding phone numbers.
The best part — your old number stays active for 90 days so you
don’t have to go crazy hitting all your contacts with your new contact
info in a rush. Sweet!

Re: Google Voice Sending Invites Today

Here's my question. I can understand why I would want to make calls through google voice. It's like having a skype phone number but free. But as it stands right now, I still have to make a call through my regular service, which then connects me via my GV number. Even the iDialer GV app does it the same way. When they come out with a GV app, will I be able to just dial straight out alla voip without using minutes, just my data connection? I do love having it call all my phones, having the text transcribed voicemails, and call switching, (if I answer on my cell, I can hit * and it rings my home and then I can switch mid call to my home phone.) Overall, it's pretty freaking awesome.

Re: Google Voice Sending Invites Today

Jharp, sorry if I misunderstood what you were asking, but a lot of people who have cellular plans where you can have a favorites number like this in particular because you can set your google number as a favorite, and make all their outgoing calls to that number, so the minutes are unlimited. Even though they are technically calling whomever they want, their cell provider only sees that they are calling that one number, the google voice number.

Re: Google Voice Sending Invites Today

Not sure if this will help anyone but I'm sure it might help someone.
Found this while surfing the net could be helpful

Google Voice + Gizmo + Gtalk = VoIP

Here is a quick how-to for setting up a Google Voice/Gizmo/Gtalk
solution to enable people to call you on your PC at no charge (at least
no charge to you, long distance charges would still apply if your GV
number isn’t local to them.)

First of all you need to have a Google Voice number. The reason I say
that this is first is because it takes the longest to aquire. So sign up
now if you haven’t and while you wait for your invite you can finish
the rest of the steps and be prepared to make it all work together in
the end. Goto: Google Voice and sign up. We will wait.

Ok good, now if you haven’t actually signed up for a Gmail account
(or any Google service) you will need to do that and then download
Google Talk . With that running on your computer you will be able to
answer the incoming calls from your GV number. But oddly enough, Google
does not yet support calls going straight to Gtalk. That is where the
SIP (Session Initiation Protocol) client Gizmo comes into play. It will
act as the bridge between GV and Gtalk.

So once you goto Gizmo 5 and sign up for their service. Then in
setting simply choose to forward all calls. Mark your destination as you
Google Talk account. (We are almost done now!) So your Gizmo account is
setup to forward your calls to Google Talk, your Google Talk is running
on your computer and available for use. Since it is open, click
“+add” to add a new user. Then add “service@gtalk2voip.com”
(without the quotes of course) so that when the first call comes through
it wont have to be slowed down with useless button clicking of
acceptance. Now we wait for your GoogleVoice invite.

When the invite comes, pick a phone number that you really want to
keep. You can be creative and pick (area code) I-am-cool, or as some
people have done (area code) x-mm/dd/yr. Whatever number you choose,
know that it is yours and can not be changed (at least not at this time,
who knows what the future holds.) Once you get your number setup, you
can click settings and add additional phones. Choose Gizmo as the phone
type and enter your SIP number. (Probably starts with 1747…) and let
it verify. When GV calls, your GTalk client should ring and (as long as
your speakers work) you will hear it tell you to enter your verification
code. Type the code into the chat window and viola, your calls now
forward to any computer that you log into Google Talk with.
