Re: Hijack any PC with your Phone

Sprint Mogul/Titan 6800
Windows Mobile 6.1
Stock ROM and Radio

Hello, I accidentally came across this post while searching for other info. But, I'm
hopeful that here I can possibly get info for another issue regarding Linux on the
Sprint Mogul.

Before I'd think of trying to hijack my Vista laptop for fun, I'd like to know and try, if
possible, running this Puppy Linux from the 4GB micorSD card on my phone.

Can I do that? I'd like to be able to pull a command prompt up at anytime to log into
servers at work or whatever while still maintaining the Windows 6.1 OS to control the
phone, use the phone apps etc.

Should I finally install one of these ROMs from around here to do such?

So is it possible to run a virtual style Linux on the Titan/Mogul like I do on my Vista
machine running VirtualBox and Linux? Or having the command prompt underneath
like my iMac at work running OS X?

I like having the GUI and command prompt at my disposal as I use both all the time
because I like having the prompt do things like ssh, scp, dealing with servers, etc.

I'm not a DOS guy much, but is DOS possibly a better solution then
there's some kind of pocket cygwin or something to get that bash feel?

Is there a DOS prompt hidden somewhere on the phone?

Or is Pocket Putty the only thing available? I've found mixed reviews on that so
I have no idea if it's worth the effort.

Thank you for any help or guidelines. I've done many searches and can't seem to
nail done a solution if it exists. I also read that drivers are required so there's no
dual boot on the Titan?

People with Android working can dual boot to WM or Android. In fact I believe a complete WM install is required to run Android.

The closest you will get to having WM running a Virtual Machine is to use WM versions of VNC or Putty to get to another box running the second OS.

Re: Hijack any PC with your Phone

Let's not forget that "Any PC" here really means "Any PC that can boot from USB"

Not all PCs have that option in the BIOS settings.

Good point Raven, if you PC is too old and cant boot from USB, yet has USB ports, you might want to check out PLOP Bootmanager.
