You might want to change the title of this thread so it says it's now out or something.

Once we're sure that it's worth keeping, can we overwrite the Opera9 file in the Windows directory, so that only the 9.7 version is on the phone? Or would that mess things up? (I really don't like having a browser available for TouchFlo, and then open up a different one for other browsing.

Thanks in advance!

Re: Opera Mobile 9.7 out Monday!?

isn't there a way to change mobile view to desktop view in opera:config settings? the mobile view option under the regular settings doesn't work. sites like yahoo.com still launch as mobile, while opera 9.5 launched the full version. doesn't seem to change when turbo mode is turned off either. if there's a fix please let me know.

Re: Opera Mobile 9.7 out Monday!?

I like the browser, but there are a few pet peeves on my touch pro.

A) The text is always formated to be read in portrait, even when viewing the page in overview mode. I like how 9.5 reformates the text to be read by whatever screen orientation you're using.

B) I used the "scroll wheel" on the touch pro to zoom, and that feature no longer works.

Other than that it seems like a decent broswer, but I don't know where people think it's faster than opera mini. It is when the page starts loading, but there is a BIG lag from the time I press enter to when the page starts to load.

PS I'm using MightyROM 5

Meh, I still think it's slower then Skyfire. If skyfire had tab browsing it be over. I am however runnin it on a mogul and don't have ram for days like on the Pro or Diamond.

Re: Opera Mobile 9.7 out Monday!?

I love it, it runs super fast and smooth on my touch pro.

But I wonder, is it me or does it drain the battery a little faster than normal? I notice that it takes up almost 5mb of memory when it's open. Is that normal?

Re: Opera Mobile 9.7 out Monday!?

Anyone know how to get it to keep the view settings? I have to zoom every page that comes up unless I am in landscape mode.
