Turbo mode is disabled by default. Make sure you go to Settings-> Advanced-> Enable Opera Turbo to get the fast speed.

Edit: Turbo mode is VERY fast; however it really reduces the image quality due to the compression. Anyway, it will be nice for normal browsing and then you can always disable in settings for sites where you want the nice image quality. So far I'm really liking the new engine.

Edit2: Already locked my phone up once. Had to soft reset. Hopefully it was a fluke.

just went over to the opera ftp site and found at the very bottom a link to the 9.7 beta.
here is a direct link to the ftp for anyone that wants it.

Its extremely fast. ppcgeeks.com opened up in less than 3seconds (using wifi)
i havent tried any other sites yet but i will very soon.

honestly, i never believed mobile web surfing would ever be this fast. Great work by the developers of this software!

rapidshare links are now uploaded for anyone who cant get the files directly off their ftp site or simply dont want to get them from the ftp site. if you need anymore mirrors just let me know.
