Yeah I have been using Windows CE ever since it was first released on the Phillips Nino prob 15 years ago. I really like winmo but it has really been a dissapointment. The evolution is terrible 2.0-6.5 not that much has changed... I remember on the Ipaq the poor graphics performace and people *****ing about drivers, then I get this "badass" Touch pro only to find out that the graphic drivers are crap. Even the text lags wtf even the crappiest devices can keep up with human typing.... i.e. The email client is terrible, graphics don't scale so if someone sends you and html email with a graphic embeded with text you cant even see it.

I just bought my wife a Touch 2G and the email client alone KILLS winmo much less all the apps that smoke any winmo app. The only thing I dont like so far is the inability to run background apps and the notifications system not haiving a simple nooze interval selection when it comes up.

I got my wife a touch pro when they came out and within a week she was killing me about how difficult it was to use and how crappy the battery was so it got returned. She picked up the touch and there was almost no learning curve, an invalid could figure it out.

I still love my Touch pro even with all of its shortcomings. By far the best winmo device I've ever had, but when my contract is up in Nov It will def be a pre or Iphone 4G as it looks like Winmo 7 will be too little too late and unfortunately MS's lack of foresight will end up causing WM to wither away to oblivion like it has already been doing for the past few years.

I use this UI for my Epix. But after it screen locks and I wake it up, the UI does not display and the screen is stuck. Anyone else have this problem with the free version?

IIRC, the Epix is 320x320 like my GSM Treo Pro. I had similar issues, went back to a version of Manila 2D modded for a 320x320 screen. We'll see if I change if & when the Pointui team gets it together for our screen resolution. There were also battery drain issues.

Re: PointUI Home 2 Pro Finally Released

Ok, so I took the plunge and installed Home. One thing that's straight away not attractive to me is how it doesn't have the text message preview like TF3D does. It only shows the first few words of the text/email, and then when you click it, it opens the native WinMo app for it, in this case SMS (which I don't like btw, I wish TF3D had isn't own "reply" within the text message envelope or something)

The Pro version shows the entire message in it's own app, not the WinMo one. And if you try some of the applets, they have one for messaging that is pretty good.

I'm confident that it doesn't show the entire message in it's own app because of what everyone on their forum is saying. Regarding the messaging applet, which one is it?

Even the help on it says "Tapping on the message will take you to it's native SMS or email application"
