Re: PointUI Home 2 Pro Finally Released
Hah, it's funny you mentioned that because that's exactly why I opened this thread; to comment on how they expect money for a product that doesn't even have a demo video.

Yeah the two enthusiast videos in youtube for the free version make it look interesting but lack of a better video or even screen shots of the contact card and pro elements which could make it a serious contender and money maker just seems either conspicuous or stupid.... |

Re: PointUI Home 2 Pro Finally Released
Well I bought it. It's only 20 bucks and as far as all my flashing and testing this UI is very functional. All the others have bells and whistles and look pretty. When it all comes down to it with pointui2 pro I can push some icons with ease and know where I am going. It works well and is intuitive. You can make it look how you want with themes and applets for funtionality. Someone else mentioned how lost you can get on MS3 unless you customize for hours maybe. Even after getting over the clean look of WM 6.5 at the end of the day it's still not as efficient as PUI2. I am running the new merdinH 6.5 beta while on an out of town business trip and have had no real issues I can think of. The pro version's features are worth the cash. I wish more chefs...would take a closer look at home2 pro and dump touchflo altogether.

Re: PointUI Home 2 Pro Finally Released
Every so often, I retry it to see if there's something I missed to take away the battery drain or the freezeups on my Treo Pro (both reported on a variety of phones, as well). Since they say outright that the $20 is NOT refundable, they need to get the Pointui chefs fixing the bugs in the free version. I can't see wasting my $20 on something that may professionally freeze up my phone & professionally drain my battery.

Re: PointUI Home 2 Pro Finally Released
If you guys want it, there's always a way to "try out the pro version for free" as it is already available on "that site" I just downloaded the pro version, and after only playing around with it for 20 minutes, I already have all my customizations including themes and extra applets all set up. I have full screen enabled, so no start menu at the top, as all that is available up there can be done through different applets. The overall interface is extremely slick, and I will probably go back and pay for it now. If anybody wants link, pm me, as discussion of this kind is not tolerated in the forums. Overall, would highly recommend to someone who wants a change from TF3D, and just letting you know that it also works perfectly with WM6.5.

Re: PointUI Home 2 Pro Finally Released
I didn't even bother trying the "free Pro version" much. I just went straight to buying it, seeing how quickly I customized the free version.
PointUI for the win! Although, I wish they'd taken a different business model, based on a free (and possibly open source) engine and paid applets. I mean, the interface is great and all, but at the moment, most applets are either redundant or offer little innovative functionality. Whipping up awesome applets and selling them might be a better way to go for all of us.
