Hey Reef48, I see you have the Imagio now so I'll bring this thread back up. Do you have any no-arrow landscape skin txt files for wvga? Or anything optimized for wvga?
I have the portrait ones you posted earlier in this thread. Though the "digits" one is a lot of empty space? And there is an oddity in the "eng" txt that I'm not sure about (it is missing a key between the "txt" key and "comma" key, yet pressing there makes all the keys dissappear except the bottom row?)
And the "type" txt referenced the wide spacebar bmp instead of the short one - that was the only thing I could fix though ... lol

I do write code, but am pretty happy with the keyboard as is so I don't feel like taking the time to figure this out. But since you are already using a 480x800 phone I thought you might have some files ready to go.

... I have spb keyboard too, which I'm also pretty happy with, but I now use the FingerKeyBoard as the default and map a button to the spb.

Thanks, that is perfect for wvga landscape. And that Max/portrait one linked there is great for wvga portrait.

did you have to do anything different in order to get the skin to show?

copied the .txt file to skins folder but still showing old skin.

i hate stock roms... seems like nothing wants to work as it should.

Which txt file did you copy? I think I had to rename something. I only used the "01" files, you know?
Like the landscape one for wvga was named skin-02-wvga-land-02-eng.txt but I renamed it to skin-02-wvga-land-01-eng.txt to replace the one that was there.

I dont quite understand what the "01" and "02" is. I think that you are supposed to be able to cycle thru 2 different keyboard layouts but I cant figure out how to get that working (yes, I see the option for NextLayout/Digits, though it doesn't seem to change anything that I can see), nor do I care.

thanks, i had already renamed the file and it didn't work.
however after a soft reset all is well

i would have to say renaming + soft reset is needed here.

now... i am having no luck keeping my sip as fkbd. ugh.
installed SIPChange v1.1 and it errors out on soft reset.
my kbd continues to default back to easy input.

any ideas here?
