Go to start/settings/system and then click on "input" highlight finger keyboard and then click options just below the drop down. the configurator comes up and from here you can choose your skin as well as other goodies.

Thanks for that!, but if I install a new skin with a different keyboard layout, will the newly installed skin appear in the configurator?, because I don`t see the skin I installed listed there....

Re: FingerKeyBoard 2.1 ONLINE NOW ALL VERSIONS!!
yes it will... First be sure you installed the skin to the correct folder.. there are two possible places. Some roms/installs put the skins folder in the Windows directory and some in the program files directory. Then you go to load a skin cab and it could be loaded into the opposite directory. Simple thing is to use file explorer and move the new skin to the correct original folder. The file tree is pretty simple to realize so you'll see where you need to drop.
If you're certain the skin has been placed in the correct folder tree along with its layout/name file then try soft reset to get the skin to show up in the drop down. |

Re: FingerKeyBoard 2.1 ONLINE NOW ALL VERSIONS!!
Just a copy of my post on xda:
I don't know if FingerKeyboard is still being developed, but I found registry keys that can be used to make a button to toggle between XT9 and ABC. I prefer FingerKeyboard over EzInput because FK is faster, much faster, but the lack of a toggle button hampers its usability. The two registry keys in question are in \HKLM\Software\Tegic\eT9\IME. ContextAwareSetting must be set to 0, and then TextInputMode can be toggled to turn XT9 on and off. Of course, for all this to work, XT9SupportMSSip must be set to 1. Now the thing is, TextInputMode flicks itself to 0 sometimes when switching apps. A toggle button on the keyboard would be a good solution. If the current keyboard can modify registry keys through key presses, we can already implement this. If not, then I hope a new version of FK which can will be released.
