There is a "Custom" folder is in each of the bg, clock, icons and weather folders. You can drop any images into any of those folders, they don't have to be part of that set (clock images can go in bg, bg can go in weather, all images can go in any of these). Since HTC didn't implement a "theme" function, I'm trying to build in that functionality with this folder breakdown. Having said that, the program just takes whatever png files are in those the separate folders and copies them to the \HTCHome folder, there is no checking for filenames (yet). As I develop this and get more artwork, I'll be putting in those checks, along with a full "Themes" option with it's own Custom option. The appearance menu is the first step toward that. Wow, that was long winded. For now:

To use a custom "theme"
1. Drop all of the files for your theme into any of the following folders:
<HHC path>\FILES\bg\Custom
<HHC path>\FILES\clock\Custom
<HHC path>\FILES\icons\Custom
<HHC path>\FILES\weather\Custom

2. Run HHC and select Appearance->(folder from above)->Custom.

3. Exit HHC and your custom theme should be applied.

-OR-

You can drop your images into <HHC path>\FILES\backup\theme and do a Restore Appearance.

Well done! I am truly impressed with all of the work you guys do and how you freely share it with the ppc community. Can anybody tell me where I can get the transparent icons?

Nevermind. I think I got it. I just set the background to fully transparent. My Today screen now looks marvelous!

launcher tab issue

emunutz, this is such a fantastic must have for this device.... I love it more so then SPB Mobile Shell!

I do have one issue though...no matter which icon set I use...if I choose the Launcher tab... I am unable to add new item by clicking the plus sign...I know in the prev. version I used (ver4) it worked fine... prior to me having this problem I had clicked the programs icon(one of the default ones) in the launcher tab in ver5 and it did nothing so I deleted hoping to re-add it back in thinking it would fix it..but then thats where I started having the problem with the Launcher tab in general to add items..... the other default items in the Launcher tab are working ok (comm manager/screen brightness/screen rotate and lock device)

any advice is greatly appreciated!

and keep up the awesome work!

hey emunutz, just found another little error.
under weather icons, code is
Code:
    XCopy ( wthpath & "\Original\*.png", "\HTCHome", 1 )
                        PlaySound ( "\Windows\Alarm2.wav" )
Message ( "Original clock installed." , "Files Copied" )
message should be "Original weather icons installed."

no biggie though. keep up the work!

Thanks for the kind words. Just remember, I didn't create the plugin, just the customization app.

As far as your problem, I cannot recreate it. Even deleting the reg keys for the launcher, it automatically recreated them when I added a program. The only thing I can think of is that you deleted all the programs and didn't press the "X" button again to bring the "+" icons back. Try pressing the delete button (bottom right) on the launcher tab and let me know if that works.

If not, I suggest you try the following:

1. Uninstall the Home Plugin through the Remove Programs menu.
2. Use a registry editor (PHM RegEdit work great) and delete the [HKLM\SOFTWARE\HTC\HTCHome] key.
3. Perform a soft reset.
4. Reinstall the Home Plugin from the menu and try again.
