Ok, twikini takes about 200K of memory, TinyTwitter about 700K, so twikini definitely wins on that front. TinyTwitter seems to handle the GPS better (does automatic address lookups) and will initialize the GPS if it hasn't been. Twikini does the song info thing (which I doubt I'll use, that's what pocket scrobbler is for), but it is something that TinyTwitter doesn't do. No direct messages in twikini yet, but it's beta, so will give an allowance for that. Both support TwitPic, TinyTwitter also allows sending your tweet via SMS (handy if no internet access is available). TinyTwitter allows you to unfollow someone, but I don't really see that as a super useful feature. Both allow you to easily retweet posts. The UIs look almost identical, TinyTwitter uses a smaller picture, twikini uses less white space, both put about the same number of tweets on the screen. Link handling is slightly more to my taste in twikini, you open the tweet containing the link and then select the link. In TinyTwitter, you select the tweet containing the link, then select status/links from the menu and select the link in the tweet you want, a bit more cumbersome. The HTC black theme in twikini goes nicely with the default black themes on a touch pro. TinyTwitter can do pop ups for new tweets.

All in all, it's pretty close. Twikini's size gives it a clear edge and if you can live without direct messages for a while, it's a good choice. Both are stable (I've not had either crash on me, but I've not used Twikini very long, so it may yet. TinyTwitter is dead stable). I'm going to give twikini a try for a while and see if it lives up to its promise.

It's kind of a way to let a lot of people know what's going on at any given time. It's hard to describe because different people use it in different ways. You can think of it as a blog in which each post is only 140 characters or less. It's also kind of a global conversation in which you can discuss whatever with whoever. Or you can use it to let people keep tabs on your status. Really, it can be used however you want to use it.

i used pockettwit today..cool interface, if a bit plain. I cant get the damn gps map thing to work..it shows locations but no actual map..i can at least get long/lang. Also when I view twits, how can i get more? like page 2, page 3 type of thing?
