Re: Google Voice includes SMS! (The old GrandCentral)
I've been using the upgrade for a few days including the new mobile site and have been impressed. SMS has been flawless and I like the threaded message format. I'd recommend that you backup / export your contacts as the upgrade requires a manual import via .csv. The import to Google Voice does not include group settings (at least not for me) which is a pain but not that big a deal as I found that you can go through the list and select multiple contacts to assign to a group all at once. I like the mobile sites Quick Call and SMS feature but it's missing the ability to delete both Voicemail and SMS messages from the inbox. On a phone screen a few SMS threads add up to some major scrolling. I also use Google Sync for contacts and calendar ... still sorting out the group issue but over all great apps from Google.
I really like Google's use of Gizmo as a SIP phone ... this option has provide many creative way to use VoIP call through local calling numbers. cya |

I logged in today and got noticed that I could upgrade. Haven't used anything yet though.

Just an update to let everyone know that there's a Google Voice app being developed which allows you to automatically dial from your GV number.

Re: Google Voice includes SMS! (The old GrandCentral)
sweet! I just checked and it let me get on the list (again) didn't let me a few days ago.
I also missed the boat (I thought it was like a casino boat and didn't actually leave dock...lol ) when they do let new users in, if anyone can't get a local # an option(~$50) would be magicjack. I finally decided to try it a while back since it was the only "voip" besides vonage that I could get an iowa #.
