Completely Removing Active Sync 4.5

Firstly,

If I am posting this in the wrong thread I apologize!

Make a long story short, this has been a thorn in my side for years (no joke)

But essentially, what I want to do is completely remove all traces of Active sync on my desktop. Literally make it as if it has NEVER been installed on my computer.

We are talking all the profiles, dll's, registry entries etc.

The reason for me doing this is that anytime I try to sync any PDA I have ever had, no matter how many times I have uninstalled the program/reinstalled/cleared registry/all short of a reformat on the computer, it completely restores all my contacts that I DON'T want haha, I am talking old numbers from a year ago that are incorrect. Installing duplicate entries on my phone etc.

All I want to do is start AS all over again so I can back up all the contacts on my phone (the ones that are up to date and the ones I want to keep) so I can finally sync my phone once a week and never have to worry about losing my numbers.

I have looked up many how-to guides and have tried deleting all the profiles associated to it. But I believe those guides were for just removing the program itself not EVERYTHING.

Someone please help?

Thanks in advance!!

Re: Completely Removing Active Sync 4.5

I appreciate the link but unfortunately that's not exactly what I am trying to do.

It is not the version of Active Sync that is the problem. The problem is that when I sync my phone up to Active Sync, it doesn't sync the new numbers from my phone to the computer, but rather syncs the old contacts from the computer to the phone.

Any other suggestions from anyone?

Re: Completely Removing Active Sync 4.5

there is an option you need to change on your phone rather then replacing items on your device you want the system to replace the items on your computer
if you go to activesync on your phone then go to menu/options/microsoft exchange or whichever one is your computer select that and then click settings
and keep hitting next till you get to the screen that says edit server settings right before you hit finish click on menu and click on advanced
where it says if there is a conflict change it to keep the item on my device
you shouldn't have to remove activesync and this should take the items on your phone and sync them with your pc
if not you might wanna check out google sync
