I will probably be more willing to try without the sms junk. As to the theme in one file, I suppose with the "cmt" extention (contact manager theme?) most people will need a special theme editor to modify? Or does it have something to do with the already in use .cmt extension used by Corel? I tried to open with XP to no avail, but linux arc just sees it as a compressed archive with the pic files in it.

Developing and upgrading software is the reason we are all here. I love the idea of building a better mousetrap, but I hate it when the new mousetrap has plumbing, lights, wall to wall carpeting, and a microwave.

there's one small thing I miss from the 1.1 ver - when you select a contact, you used to be able to hit the joystick to the left to go back to the list, that doesn't work anymore.

Also, I can't tell yet, is there a config file still? Does it work if I just pop my old one in the same dir? or is there one in the skin thing?

I have a question for you guys: how to make you read what I write? I mean theme explaination, diff between ContactManager and PocketCM, etc.... are all explained on the download page for PocketCM.

Anyway, if you don't like the SMS junk, or anything else DO NOT USE MY APP.

also if someone (for instance the guy who made the cab for ContactManager), want to make a cab I'd be more than happy to publish it on my website.

Well, by going back to t e 1st post in this thread, following the link to the xda site, I found my answer...

Quinton, I am sure you will be answering this question over and over, you may want to post it in your faq.

Thanks for a wonderful ap!

The settings are stored in "theme.cmt". It's just a zip file. There should be a "settings.ini" in the "theme.cmt" file, that you can mess with.

You can do this by :
1.) Renaming "theme.cmt" to "theme.zip"
2.) Unzipping theme.zip to a temporary folder
3.) Modify the settings.ini to your liking
4.) Zip up the contents of the temporary folder
5.) Name the zip file theme.cmt.

one problem is that with the Palm Threaded SMS installed, none of the send SMS features in CM work. Kinda sucks. If he found a way for his program to be the dedicated SMS program, that would be cool

To make PocketCM work with the contacts button on your today screen just make the following registry change (assuming you installed the files to the \windows\ directory):

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Shell\Rai\:M SCONTACTS]
"1"="\"\\Windows\\NativeContactManager.exe\""

I'm a bit confused, so this new updated version doesn't work with TREO's? Guess I'll have to stick with the previous version then, still loving it!

I'm using the PocketCM 0.5 and I have one question about a setting in the settings.ini file. When I look at the contact details, the address information next to the contact's picture (or placeholder if they have no picture) doesn't ocuppy the full width of the text box, but instead wraps down to subsequent lines making it possible to only have a few fields appear.

I'm wondering if there's a setting somewhere that defines the width of the text box so that it can be widened to occupy the full width and thus not wrap down to subsequent lines so that more information can be displayed.

As it stands right now, if the street address is anything longer than say 7 characters, you won't be able to see the zip code and sometimes even the state since they're forced down below the edge of the text box and thus are not shown.

I'll see if I can post a screenshot a bit later to better illustrate what I'm trying to say.
