Re: FREE Programs that sync contacts, calendars, etc

Between Mesh for my docs and folders and Exchange for email and calendar, I've been able to leave my laptop in my office when I'm not traveling. I used to use an external Sharepoint site, but the options in Mesh allow me to back up just to the web for some things and to all of my computers for the others.

Once they release a mobile interface it will be tons better, the mobile web log in is kind of lame.

Re: FREE Programs that sync contacts, calendars, etc

I use a combo of 2 apps:

Seven Beta (Push Email, Calendar) *You can also sync contacts from any email account.
Dashwire (Contacts, Photos, Camera Photos, Calls, Bookmarks, Messages etc.)

Both are extremely reliable and easy to manage.

is a must have IMHO & Seven is essential.

Re: FREE Programs that sync contacts, calendars, etc

I have just started crash-coursing myself in these things with the ultimate goal of syncing mine and my wife's calendars with my touch pro, an htc athena that lives on my nightstand, and whatever phone my wife can get happy with since sprint disables syncml on every $%!@ thing other than pda phones. She has an lx260 rumor that will only do email over funambol, and has no built in sync settings that i can see.

Email/tasks/favorites/contacts would be nice, but that's down the road.

Dashwire is cool, but doesn't sync more than one user or calendars at all, but I do use it to sync favorites with my phone and the athena

I have funambol working for email, but i can't figure out how to get it to stop bringing in stuff from my yahoo spam folder

Messed with the new google sync last night on the athena, but couldn't get it to do calendar, kept getting 0004 errors

I would donate to anyone who can help me either get her lx260 to sync to anything in any way shape or form, or better yet activate a verizon smt5800 on sprint's network (it's a form factor thing, she prefers hard buttons so no touchscreens, ad doesn't like the narrowness of the blackberry/treo style keyboard.)

Re: FREE Programs that sync contacts, calendars, etc

I use the funambol client, but actually sync to

http://www.scheduleworld.com/

Why? Well, that will sync automagically to google calendar, *and* there is a funambol outlook plugin, which gets my junk from WinMo to cloud to Outlook to ipod touch.

Yeah, that's easy

I hope you can find the answer here--or somewhere and let us know. I'll keep adding stuff as people leave their suggestions.

Thanks to my former boss, he gave me a copy of Windows Crap Server 2003 and exchange. I would much rather have a linux server, but can't find any free linux software that will allow my phone to sync with an exchange based server.

Actually the information I posted about funmabol will work with a linux server on your computer to sync to exchange on the phone.

Funmabol: http://www.funambol.com

Sync email, contacts, calendars, without the need for a windows computer. Choose to use their Open source server software (windows or linux) OR just use the online portal: myFUNAMBOL Portal

link to funmabol cab file: http://my.funambol.com/me/funambol-sm-plugin.cab

Dashwire.com

Not a bad application if you don't mind your info stored on the internet...
