Re: SPB Mobile Shell 3.0!!
Wanted to put another happy customer (well, not yet) of SM3!
I am still using the leaked build, but I think in a few days will purchase the official full version. Thus far, I am extremely impressed. Running it on Yay 4 Juggs version 8 (WinMo 6.1) and it is super smooth. Other than switching to landscape lag, NO OTHER ISSUES reported from this customer. I have 3D Acceleration OFF, and have heard from somewhere around this forum that it is best if you have a diamond/pro to keep that off.

Re: SPB Mobile Shell 3.0!!
My feeling after testing ...
... 3 issues ... - Lag from switching to landscape to portrait - Sometimes the application or opera that u are running closes and takes u back to Mobile shell... - No icon for reminders... just the basic small bell in taskbar.. wish there was an icon to add in mobile shell for reminders other then that we are good to go i have 3D Acceleration OFF on my touch pro... i never had it turned on... the manual doesnt mention anything about it either I wish there was a way for spb taskmanager to override the default HTC taskmanager or even to link a hard key to open up spb taskmanager... cant find exe or lnk file for spb taskmanager...

Re: SPB Mobile Shell 3.0!!
No difference between leaked and full version.
Found on other forums that some people are having issues with the Facebook contact app (including myself) where it just wont connect (via WiFi, Wap etc) I have managed to get mine working, but only when i have PIE running in the background. |

Re: SPB Mobile Shell 3.0!!
I have no problems with facebook, I tried it just now again to make sure, and other than forgetting where the facebook icon was in MS3, it connected without issue.
I read itouch24's bug list, and there is no question about the landscape/portrait switch lag, but I can live with that!! About the apps closing...are you seeing that on the official release version? I had a HUGE memory leak with the leaked version, that resulted in not being able to keep apps open for more than a few seconds at a time until I did a reset, but I have gone a couple days with the official (only reset because I tweaked the lifestyle layout to 5 pages) without this issue. I see what you mean about reminders as well, but I also use S2U2, and that handles my reminders for me, so I am not worried about that bug (I think I remember you use that as well???). |

1- In the lifestyle mode, all you do is click the bottom right icon and 'edit layout' then you can move any icon, shortcut, clock....you like to anywhere on the screen you like. (and with the ability to extend the lifestyle layout to 10 pages, you can almost live of that layout without ever bothering with the profesional layout !!!) 2- There is a reg tweak I posted earlier that you can map the SMS icon to a 3rd party app like Vito or PocketCM for some of the effect you like, you can also use S2U2, it has a text preview function in it. 3- I agree reg editing isn't the easiest, but if you want, just extend it to the max (the current known max is 10 pages) and if you use them great, if not, you don't know they are there (until someone figures out how to loop them!!! ). 4- Agreed...that would be nice, but with the carousel view, I think it is forgivable. 5- No argument there!! 6- That would take another weather app like Weather Panel, SPB never offered that. I used to have WeatherPanel linked to S2U2 so I had current temp on the Today screen and my lock screen. I did mention it would be cool to allow custom widget creation for things like Today plug-ins, I think that may be the only way for that. 7- That would be nice, but I think that is why they included the lifestyle layout...not a perfect alternative I agree, but pretty cool nonetheless!!!! |
