I have the touch pro, and it lags really bad switching from having the keyboard out back to landscape... is there any kind of fix for this or has anyone else experienced this...

Does anyone know of a utility or reg hack that will allow you to specify a ringer folder for MS 3 to look in. If I am at the contact carousel and try to select a ringer it will only look at the ringers that are in the windows folder. I have some of the ringers on my sd card.

Re: SPB Mobile Shell 3.0!!

I keep all my rings in a folder in my internal storage card, then after a flash or hard reset I copy all my favorite rings to My Documents/My Ringtones

ElAguila 05-02-2009 10:51 PM

Re: SPB Mobile Shell 3.0!!

I copied my ringtones to the My Documents/My Ringtones folder and reset the phone. After it came up, spb ms didn't see any ringtones. If I get to my contacts using the link on the start menu, I can see the ringtones. I only have the problem when trying to add a ringtone from the mobile shell contact screen.

Re: SPB Mobile Shell 3.0!!

Just put your ringtones in my documents and not in the Ringtones folder and you will have less problems. Doesn't make any sense, but that's what I've been doing for awhile now.

Re: SPB Mobile Shell 3.0!!

Try putting your ringtones in \Windows\Rings. Mine work perfectly there.

I'd rather not add more clutter into the windows folder though.

Re: SPB Mobile Shell 3.0!!

The Rings folder should already be there. That's where most system sounds already are. The Rings directory as well as the root of the storage card are two locations that just about any program will look for ringtones. Anything else is a crap shoot.

1999TL 05-02-2009 11:54 PM

Re: SPB Mobile Shell 3.0!!

I'm a tard. Previously I was putting them straight into the windows folder and it was a crapshoot if windows would see the files. I guess I didn't look hard enough b/c I saw the My ringtones folder in my documents. I know it's a crapshoot for windows to see the files in there as well, but it recognizes just fine in my documents.

I will change my Sashimi Root copy to the windows ring folder now. Thanks.

Re: SPB Mobile Shell 3.0!!

I thought I would add my 5 cents to this thread. I have been using SPB Mobile Shell 2.0 for maybe 1 and 1/2 years. I really rely on this program for my Sprint Diamond. I use TF3D just for eye candy once in a while. I have 2 Diamond phones and I use one to compare programs, tweak for fun, and experiment with and mainly use for an emergency backup. This is because I have over 2500 contacts with pages of notes on each one. My phone is a very important tool. I use Mighty's 4.7 Rom on both of these. I upgraded to SPB Mobile Shell the first day it was released thinking that if 2.0 was good 3.0 would be the bomb. Wrong in so many ways. The first thing I noticed was the lack of customizing to the different Launcher menus as one can do with 2.0, a fix that thankfully I found on post 495 of this forum. I was able to make registry changes to get this done...Why SPB did not enable this is a mystery. I also was able to run TF3D along with SPB 3.0 as I learned on this forum how accomplish. A lot of the things of 3.0 I like so I spent hours tweaking this software to make if work for me and I finally got to point where I said maybe this will be a good fit. It was after all this that I noticed once you add 2500 contacts to your device SPB 3.0 it takes forever to load, possibly 5 minutes or more. I am soft resetting or removing my battery several times a day. I have over 60 software titles installed and sometimes there is a need to get a clean boot. This wait time is very unacceptable. With SPB Mobile Shell 2.0 it is very fast to reboot and get back to work in about 60 seconds but with 3.0 I do not have the patience to wait 4-5 minutes every time. My question is why would SPB which makes very excellent software have such a slug with this new release? Did they not have a beta tester with large files to test it with? So for me I'm going back to the very reliable 2.0. I'm hoping this will help those power end user like myself from spending all the time that I did with 3.0 and being very disappointed. Good Luck.

This is exactly why when I flashed to 4.17, I didn't even bother with installing MS3. I love speed.

My battery has been horrible and the apparent culprit is SPB3. :(

Back on MS2.
Too bad, girly still hates going back to Today screen to make phone calls by having to hit the Send key. And ofcourse, the el-tasks.

Yes, I am going to have to go back to SPB2, not because I dislike SPB3, but because battery is well, you know, kind of important.

I really really like having the start menu and taskbar available in SPB3. :(

Bah. I went back to Manilla. I use the audio player a lot, and I can't find a better alternative.

Alias - I just upgraded my i910 Omnia to Wozzers WM 6.5 ROM. I cannot get the Professional clock on the Lifestyle screen. The cab I downloaded installs fine, and I have the option in MS3, but it does not show any clock. Did you get that to work. I also tried adding MSN Weather to my Lifestyle screen, but the icon does not show. I get a generic looking icon for that and some of the other newer apps from 6.5. Do you have that issue?

Didos on the battery drain on my 6.1 rom. For some reason I think its worse on 6.1 then it was on a 6.5 rom, but that doesnt seem right.

If I use the hardware volume key on my Treo Pro, when I exit it, or let it time out, it will go to the vanilla Today screen instead of the Mobile Shell. Is there a way around this?

Can someone please post the contents of the spbmenu key under hklm\software\spb software house 2\spb mobile shell\now screen\layouts\:SPBMENU," so i can re-add them?

I accidentally overwrited it when i tried to switch the default launcher screen by renaming it, so now only my favorites tab works. thanks.

If I click on an appointment, it opens up with the built in WinMo calendar, I then delete (it's gone from the winmo cal.) but it still stays on the SPB calendar. Now that appointment in SPB is dead. If I click on it it does nothing... which I guess makes sense since it's not really there. If I do a soft reset SPB then shows the correct calendar items.

Can anybody else recreate this and see if it's happening to them too? Thanks.

Confirmed

Does anyone know if there is a way to add a Text/Email message preview Tab/panel and a widget? It would be real nice to just see a preview instead of opening all the way into the application to see short message or discover that it wasnt something i really wanted to read right at that moment in time.

Just go into settings/sounds & notifications under notifications tab select text/messaging etc etc and check display message on screen.

Yeah... but then i get the annoying 'message sent' bubble everytime i send one. Also... those only show up for a few moments... I want to just be able to come to my device, be on my home screen, and see the latest previews of the last few messages.... perhaps i shouldnt be so picky... i guess im just lazy at using my device, and the less finger swipes and presses, the better. It just seemed like something that could be done, so was curious.
