Re: Google adds location tracking to Google Maps
Does "My Location" work for anybody without using GPS? My wive's blackberry curve gets a location without GPS, using the cell phone towers.
On my touch diamond, it will only work with GPS enabled. These are both with Telus. |

Re: Google adds location tracking to Google Maps
Has anyone noticed that Copy & Paste no longer works (at least on the Treo 700wx)? This is terrible! Additionally when you load up a contact, you don't see their actual address on the map anymore, just their name. Very frustrating, typically such contacts I'm finding directions to are ones whose exact street address I am unfamiliar with and need to see the most! Also we're forced to get "Directions to" our locations, "Directions from" is no longer an option. Has anyone else noticed these problems? Does anyone have the previous version (before Street view was enabled, that version also has these issues) so that I can switch back? Thanks.

I think they were tired of being beaten by the iPhone so they figured they would compete by removing features that people just don't really need. Copy and paste is a bag of hurt ya know. |

Did anyone else notice that if you click the original link on the first post the map is of YOUR location? Creeeepy.

Re: Google adds location tracking to Google Maps
The cell tower location works well enough on the blackberry. It would be a lot better on battery life if it would work that way on my touch diamond.
