Re: WM 6.5 Kitchen QVGA and VGA Developer Edition
Well, got an error when I tried to cook the ROM, here is the error:
Kitchens\PPCkitchen_addition.rar File create error (C:\Users\...\AppData\Roaming\hIq Inc\PPC-BuildOS\9.05.3.0Temp\temp\dump\cgacutil.exe\imagei nfo.bin) Unchecked .NET CF 3.5 From SYS and it went past this error.... Just FYI, maybe it can be fixed on addition.rar? Flash Lite also gives an error, but it's very old, couldn't test it to see if I could see flash on web pages I went to folder and there is a file called cgacutil.exe, and the kitchen is trying to create a folder cgacutil.exe (shouldn't it be cgacutil without the .exe?) Live Search gives error, possible CF .Net 3.5 dependant, need to fix problem above Error: An unexpected error has occurred in LiveSearch.exe. Select Quit and then restart this program, or select Details for more information. File or assembly name 'Microsoft.WindowsMobile.Status, Version=1.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=31BF3856AD364E35', or one of its dependencies, was not found. Volume control (I selected one from Tachi, I guess I need to leave original WM 6.5 one?) The messenger gives a certificate or missing file error (not signed?) Diamond/Raphael white dialer not compatible. The HTC Task Manager on Titanium sits on top of the time, doesnt affect anything else, so far...still testing... +1 -1 for the new gui I like alot of the finger friedly stuff but it feels more like they're designing for lack of buttons than lack of stylus. I like my dpad. I also think some apps were more finger friendly before they started tweaking. ie solitaire. Coming from a kaiser i love how mine has you covered no matter your input preference. jog wheel, finger, dpad,stylus, or keyboard. I have an email connection problem I cant figure out. Used to have all my emails loaded and ready on first boot. Now with the new kitchen it configures the email accounts but when I hit send/recv it instantly times out saying "Cannot connect" Here is mxip_myProv_100.provxml Does anything look out of place? Code:
<wap-provisioningdoc> <!-- Other Mail Settings --> <!-- Use link below to fig out values --> <!-- http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa455896.aspx --> <characteristic type="EMAIL2"> <characteristic type="{236d315b-79c1-4ec2-af32-8f2601116214}"> <parm name="SERVICENAME" value="Gmail" /> <parm name="SERVICETYPE" value="POP3" /> <parm name="INSERVER" value="pop.gmail.com" /> <parm name="OUTSERVER" value="smtp.gmail.com" /> <parm name="NAME" value="Nikki2Beeps" /> <parm name="REPLYADDR" value="" /> <parm name="AUTHNAME" value="XXXXXXX@gmail.com" /> <parm name="AUTHSECRET" value="XXXXXXXX" /> <parm name="DOMAIN" value="" /> <parm name="AUTHREQUIRED" value="1" /> <parm name="LINGER" value="120" /> <parm name="RETRIEVE" value="-1" /> <parm name="KEEPMAX" value="0" /> <parm name="DWNDAY" value="3" /> <parm name="SMTPALTENABLED" value="0" /> <parm name="SMTPALTAUTHNAME" value="" /> <parm name="SMTPALTPASSWORD" value="" /> <parm name="SMTPALTDOMAIN" value="" /> <characteristic type="TAGPROPS"> <parm name="8128000B" value="0"/> <parm name="812C000B" value="0"/> </characteristic> </characteristic> </characteristic>

Volume Control? What problem are you having? If it's what I think it is, you have no incall volume control. This is a known issue with the newer builds. Just remove it. Messenger and Live Search? Sounds like that goes back to the .NET issues. Use ONLY the one from the SYS base. The TaskManager problem can be "fixed" by updating the RGU with some reg entries. But the "fix" is just HIDING the icon so it doesn't overlap the clock. You just tap the clock to open it up. Let me know if you need, I can post the fix again.

I don't get a volume control at all if I install one. I didn't select it and cooked and it has the built-in, I haven't tried the in-call volume but I am guessing if it's a know issue, I will have it Messenger is a certificate, maybe CF 3.5 has that certificate? And yes, the Live Search gives me a .NET error so I am guessing it's 3.5 dependant. How do I hide the icon? It's only in the Home screen. Others use the bottom left, or I don't think it even uses it? I should just remove it..? |

All I can think of is remove the lines that have "" in then for values, and test with removing some of the other lines as well to see if you can narrow it down. Sorry I can't offer anything more in assisting you |

As far as messenger, the certificate error could be still be .NET. Try it with 3.5 only and see what happens. Volume Control? MS hard-coded in the buttons to bring up the taskbar menu zoom, there is no getting around that, if that is what you are referring to. |
