Yes of course and also get the sys common. The SYS Common is the OS core, DPI96 or DPI 192 is the Dots per inch used on your device. i.e if your device is (w)qvga you need 96 and if your device is (w)vga then you need to get 192 dpi. I guess HTC Opal is qvga device so you need to get 96dpi sys.

oops, I guess it will be hard for me to teach for beginner. :(

I suggest you to find a better cooking guide. XDA-Dev site is your friend. :)

Best Regards

Yes can use OEMXIPKERNEL of your device on Official Opal WM 6.1 rom. But you cannot use MSXIPKernel and MSXIPKernelLTK from WM 6.1 to WM 6.5 coz it doesn't work.

It depends upon the kitchen you are using, some kitchens needs xip.bin ( Which is the packed file of OEMXIPKERNEL, MSXIPKernel and MSXIPKernelLTK ) and some kitchens ( Platform Rebuilder based ) can create xip.bin itself inwhich you just need to place OEMXIPKERNEL, MSXIPKernel and MSXIPKernelLTK in ROM\XIP.

:(

So there may be no other way for you since beginner. Use the same kitchen ( OpalChef ) until you get expert about how the rom is cooked and then after you can create your own kitchen using platform rebuilder which you can get here.

As of non auto... generate xip.bin kitchen, I'm low in it but I hope, others may help you to create a prefect rom. :)

Good Luck!!!
