Re: WM 6.5 Kitchen QVGA and VGA Developer Edition

VIP are PPCGeeks members who have either 1,000+ posts or 2,000+ reputation, like me.

I also watched the video and it looks very real. I know Groove is working on getting a custom and "stable" version running... or at least as "Stable" as a pre-alpha can be.

It's on qik.com.. However, I can't give you the URL link since it is private... I think our VIP Membership should speak for the quality and assure all non-believers...

vip don't mean ****, alot of vip's are that because they spam the hell out of the boards

rainfreak 03-31-2009 05:23 PM

Re: WM 6.5 Kitchen QVGA and VGA Developer Edition

Exactly what I was going to state BigD... and per the rules of the VIP section, we are not allowed to disclose anything discussed within the VIP section. The only reason this is slightly different is because The Geek posted out here that he was going to get it to us, but asked us to keep it to ourselves until a proper release could be done.

And with the recent cease and desist that just got served on PPCGeeks from MS for 6.5, we don't want anymore porblems with them again...

That is not true, period. Almost all of the VIPs here are so because of their reputation, meaning that they earned thanks from other members because of their ability to help others.

Even those VIPs with high post counts in a short period of time also back that up with a high reputation, which means that even if they do post a lot, they also help a lot.

I am not trying to argue with you, but you made me curious. So I looked at the first four pages of members here, sorted by post count, and only saw a few with under a hundred thanks (each). That equates to about 105 VIP members (30 per page X 4 pages = 120 - Mods) with only maybe 5 of them having less than 100 thanks.

Again, I am not trying to argue...

Nah bro, it's not about right or wrong. It's about perception. It's cool... I actually thought the same thing when I first became VIP...

Wish it was as easy as just loading a cab file lol. Hope to see this work out great though, and If that pre-alpha winmo 7 gets cooked that will be nice.

http://dan-vogue-titan.ppckitchen.or..._21198_xip.BIN

you will also need this cpl for switching mem modes

http://dan-vogue-titan.ppckitchen.or...CPL-Kernel.rar

I have not tested to see if the cpl's pagepool changing function will work with newer builds yet though

edit: I tested the pp changer, and it seems to work

Now that xip is great. Much thanks to dan_htc for posting. It works great on all builds. It is a bin file, so I made it into an os.nb.payload file for titan users.
I have tested it on builds 21189, 21193, 21195 and 21198, just great on them all.
Ram with camera enabled 47.30mb, camera disabled 55.50mb. This simply means more ram for titan users no matter the build.

The file below is a rom folder containing the boot.rgu and the os.nb.payload. Just replace the Rom folder in your kitchen with this, also download the kernel in dan's post quoted above and drop that in your SYS folder, cook and enjoy more ram.

Re: WM 6.5 Kitchen QVGA and VGA Developer Edition

If i wanted to build a fake windows 7 build it would be easy.

Did you know that windows 7 will be based on 22xxx? did you know it will be based on CE 6.0, not 5.2.

Even the alpha build right now of windows 7 are a compelte makeover of 6.x.

Microsoft has 2 different teams working on windows 7 right now, and another team working on 6.5. They will not look the same. One team is doing all of the graphics and everything. The other team is doing the Core OS. It will be different. From what i have seen about windows 7, is it will be very great, very finger friendly, and no, it will not be leaked out for at least 6 months.

It will be fun to see how dsm dependency turn out. The one thing you can not patch in the dsm, and if you delete them, then it obvious to. All packages to one, still leaved one dsm to look at.

Re: WM 6.5 Kitchen QVGA and VGA Developer Edition

Guys, this is bull****. I know I'm not to be taken too seriously around here yet since I've not put much time in, but all this "Trust me, I'm VIP" crap in conjunction with "we've got WM7" is spam at best and I'm trying to follow this thread to eventually get out a nice 6.5 ROM AND contribute what I can in the meantime.

Don't be ****s by throwing that crap in here. Go make a new thread, or clam up (as VIPs should) until there's something to release.

For those who still have their hopes up, even after reading ConFlippers previous post, a screenshot, or even videos are worthless as "proof" of anything. Even a SYS could be released which would be hard to identify as false to the majority of us.

My "opinion" (based on common sense and logic) is that we will know WM7 when we see an new UI that clearly isn't just a bunch of skins and apps people have thrown together.

If feel me here, show me some thanks. If you disagree, please don't spam up this thread further, PM me instead. I'm all for discussing productive issues and opinions.

have you tried other backup solutions like ppcpimbackup? I never really like spb's backup's, found they caused more issues than they solved

Re: WM 6.5 Kitchen QVGA and VGA Developer Edition

I'm currently using a 6.5 v3 rom ported out by nsfan on xda on my vogue. I'd really like to see manilla2d ported over. I've tried a few times using various kitchens but I can't get it to work.
I'm not sure if a new thread would be the right place but I'd like to see a nice list made of tips/tweaks we've found as I'm sure there's some I've missed.
As example, making a new applet is a combination of using chomeconfig and editing the registry keys for applets to include the new name of your applet.

Has anyone tried making a new custom applet in the cpr files? Akin to the weather applet? Instead of waiting for the settings applet I know that we could get one put together fairly easily

do you have nuewifiswitch installed? if so, uncheck act as a hardware switch, the cpr is titanium_240x320.cpr, and will be in the commonea direcory in your kitchen
