Thanks for the clarification. Followed your instructions but unfortunately still the same problem. Will keep investigating.

Like I said, the idea is to remove Arcsoft from the cooking process and to install it via CAB. GC14 has not developed a Sprint cab yet, and the Alltel CABs are still at the point of needing further testing. But the Verizon CAB works, and there are a number of threads on PPCGeeks and XDA both that pertain to carrier specific RegEdits for SMS/MMS. But you have to install Arcsoft and then do your edits (If you are on anything but Verizon, if you are Verizon, it is as simple as installing the CAB and doing a soft reset).

Once more, GC14's idea over at XDA was to allow for any ROM that can be cooked for your device to have functioning SMS/MMS. THis is done by eliminating the Arcsoft from the ROMs all together and installing via CAB, he is working on various other carriers as we speak. Mr-free and the rest of us who have been working on Build 21159 on XDA decided this was the best, and most dependable way to get the SMS/MMS functioning properly, in fact on some of our tests, Arcsoft was the only thing working 100% correct. Thus allowing more attention to be directed to more serious issues involved in the testing process.

Go to THIS LINK over at XDA to read up on the "How's and Why's"

What did you use to edit those strings? I used ResHack and changed them to Personal/System/Connections, but the 1st two strings did not show up properly (e.g. System□Con..., Personal□Sys..., Connections). Tried to hex-edit it but it looked even worse.

I do not have time right now to port to other devices. so you have to do that. I am working on a VGA right now. But Here is also a link for the Updated files in the SYStem so maybe someone else can get it going.

Here is a VGA, it is a really quick half *** 10 minute system, so there will be bugs, 1 is PIE, 2 is GFX. I gotta leave though, I will come back to this time. Until then i am sure some of you can figure it out.

XIP is for use in a kitchen.

The only thing that would transfer to your phone for ROM cooking is the RUU install. And that's done after the cooking.

Every time I try to run the BuildOS included here, I get an error stating that it can't copy custsat.dll because a file or folder with that name already exists. Any idea how to get around this? When I run BuildNB it gives me a ruu_signed.nbh file in the RUU folder will that suffice to run as my OS? or do I need to build it with BuildOS?

Thanks Con!
BTW, Redist_Lang_0409_DPI_96\stylus1.96.gif needs to be replaced w/ English because it's in Chinese now.

EDIT: Attached is the the 21169 XIP for the HTC Touch GSM (Elfin). The file nk.exe has also been hacked so that the system time is preserved on a hard reset.

Re: WM 6.5 Kitchen QVGA and VGA Developer Edition

Hi all,

I build CDMA Diamond rom using the sys Da_G posted and almost everything works fine except few things.

1. Activesync still can't sync after the initial sync. If I remove email then it syncs perfectly fine but as soon as I add email to sync items, it fails.

2. I built battery icon but it only shows for the first time. Once I soft reset the phone, digital time is showing instead of battery icon.

3. SMS notification doesn't work. But if I install mightyrom 4.x.5 hotfix 021109, it seems to fix the problem.

Other than those three issues I have, I don't have any problem or issue.

Here is a Vogue multi Carrier rom with the new 21169 SYS. There is an issue with the top bar, the batt icon overlaps the task manager icon so I will fix that soon but everything els seems to work fine. After flashing make sure to use one of DCD carriers cab.

Something happened to a stored number that caused it to be larger than can be stored to represent it.

On the phone, an Integer can only be so large, so when you try to add 1 to a number that is at its max size, an overflow occurs.

G'Reloc error. For the most part G'Reloc can't handle the amount of modules in 6.5. Easy solution use WMReloc. Its been talked about all over here and on xda.

Most of the time when a device won't boot its due to an xip error or bad xip.
