Well, I just started testing again on the Touch Pro and I thought the had fixed the dialer scrolling issue... I guess I will stick to the factory (no selection on ppckitchen) unless someone has a solution to this?

Thanks!

I dont know if it's me but this build (23041) is trying to access the internet as soon as I start the phone... Wonder if M$ installed a program to send your info to them...? Inquiring minds want to know....

Hi everyone. I've been cooking roms now for 2 months and love 23041. I am having one issue with it though. I can't get sms to work. The device I'm running is the LG Incite. It uses dpi 96. I ran into this problem with 23034 too. If anyone has any solutions I would greatly appreciate it.

Thanks

Make sure you did NOT exclude the webview package from the sys.

That's a known issue with all of the new COM3 and COM4 builds. Some peeps have had some luck modifying some of the dialers, but it seems hit or miss. Check the 6.5 thread at XDA here ->http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=544445

so customizations are not running for me after first boot. noticed this after making a 23041 rom. it is not the sys though as i cooked using and older sys and it did not work with it either. so problem is some where in my packages or oems but for the life of me i dont know what. any ideas what can keep customizations from running and sdautorun from running even if directly ran from the windows directory? and to clarify the values at hklm\comm are correct.

No weather or TF (yet) I thought that was it, but I hard reset the phone (and didn't select the manila 2d 1.2 install on the autorun) and it still tried to connect, with a plain wm 6.5 23041 build.

Do you think it could be the ADC pkg in the sys? Auto Data Configuration could be attempting to run in the background. I've had a hell of a time trying to get my email on alot of the latest builds. I think it has something to do with default connection getting set to "The Internet" before the connection settings wizard even runs. When i try to manually create an account named "The Internet" It errors saying this account already exists. It must be hidden?? Trying to find it?

Re: WM 6.5 Kitchen QVGA and VGA Developer Edition

On TOUCH PRO there is no TASK MANAGER anymore... Not the X task manager, but the actual program that shows you the programs running and also processes. On QVGA it exists and gets installed automatically.

To all: Is there a command line utility I can use that allows me to copy files, delete files and run batch files? Is there such thing as batch files in WM?

1.) See this Tut here -> http://ppckitchen.org/forums/showthread.php?t=533
2.) I'm not sure, but probably via PROVXML somehow....

As fas as that problem with dotFredTask Manager? Yup, I see it too...just either a change in 23041, or a bug.

Thanks Joojoobee, Just a question, on your "Removed Packages" is there a way we can add these to PPC kitchen or a manual way to install them with nuePackageInstaller ?

Or is there an easy way to make cab files out of them to install them ?

If this was covered at some point could someone provide a link to the info ?

I don't think it was covered. But the only stuff removed was WindowsLive/Live Messenger and Office which are already in PPCKitchen. As far as most can tell, nothing has changed in either of those packages.

Webview was enabled when I cooked the rom. That was the first thing I made sure of. Thanks for the reply though. Do you guys think if I cook the webview from 23037 into 23041 I can get it to work. SMS worked on my 23037 rom.

Just would like to try to keep up with the office versions when a newer build comes out, maybe it's a minor version or feature but, I still would like to be able to see them.

Is it possable to add a OEM with those files ? Or maybe delete the ones that come in the PPCkitchen and just add those or even have them listed with the PPK ones just with a newer date ??

Thanks for the reply !

Yeah, it is possible to convert those into to an OEM for PPCKitchen. I've attached one to this post. I haven't tested, but it should work for both QVGA and VGA devices.

Update: Reported not to work!

Tried it with nuePackageInstaller and put in PPC kitchen, no go, nue crashes and PPK gets some hiv error when building (I uncheck the office 23041, and it builds fine).

Oh, well, next build you put up, keep me in mind.... Thanks !

BTW. I had 23401 before, and just tried the 23041, wow, 23041 is worlds better.... No more scroll bars on the dialer ! Yea ! (titan here)

Also if it isn't too much to ask, can you remove the Sprint TV and Sprint Navigation from 192 (VGA)?

Re: WM 6.5 Kitchen QVGA and VGA Developer Edition

Hey,
demonic1,

96DPI is not for the TP
You should be working with 192DPI

EDIT:
After reading the build report, I guess you are building an Apache ROM.
To flash to an apache device?
Any way when I compare your Dev Base txt with the one I have, I see an extra line after

XipFilename=Apache,WM6.5_23041,Apache_23041_xip.BI N

But before

ModuleDir=[KitchenPath]Apache_Core[Archive]\Patches

Mine shows only one line between those strings.
And remember to have 2 blank lines after

SelectedMainSplashImage=320x320,6.1_welcomehead.96 .png

That is how my Apache_WM6.1.txt shows.

Also, about the BuildBases txt, The file should have no spaces at the top,
and only one empty line at the bottom.

Are you kidding,
That's a priceless MP3/Dash Cam/Voice Activated Recorder/Audio Note Pad,
and whatever else you can think of.
But it is a good test machine. Just can't choose too many items on the menu.

LOL, I don't use it, MS will probably discard it too... If you remove the time, whatever is next to it will conflict with the taskmgr... New TASK BAR "feature"

swap the xip with a different one eg 23037 or swap common and dpi files with earlier to see if its a sys or xip problem

joojoobee I was going through the kitchen options reading on the websites and oem info, and I came across Voice Command. You added VOICE COMMANDER (and it's a check box, not a radio, so if I have one already selected, this one creates 2 options) is this VOICE COMMANDER the same thing as VOICE COMMAND?

Re: WM 6.5 Kitchen QVGA and VGA Developer Edition

Hey guys,
I just got a new Touch HD and am trying to cook 6.5 for it, but am running into problems with the AutoRun.

I am using the same CheckAutoRun.exe that I used for the Fuze (it's a customized version of CheckAutoRun.exe that works with WM6.5, which I got from Xda-developers); however, after flashing, when the autorun screen comes on, it looks like it installs something for about 30 seconds, but in fact it didn't really install anything. On the Fuze it's fine though... both the Fuze and HD have config_operator.txt, which is what the AutoRun package looks for.

Has anyone had any luck on their HDs with CheckAutoRun.exe?

EDIT: Ack! Nevermind, I was missing a Security OEM that sets certain privileges.

Uhm... I went to test the camera on the Diamond and noticed that the Camera on the main start menu didn't load, went to multimedia folder, ran that camera and it didn't load either. Does the Diamond (Victor) camera gets installed by default and installing "HTC Camera - Diamond" breaking it?

Will try without and report back... Well, it won't let me de-select the camera. Going to modify the .txt file and try without it.

I'm pretty sure you have to choose a camera. I have an OEM that, last I knew, worked fine. I seem to recall having issues with the one from PPCK when I cooked some Victor ROMS for friends. Let me know if you need it.

You might wanna hold off a bit too, I'm testing 23409 for PPCKitchen as we speak ;)

Hmmmmmmm! :) I will wait for 23409. BTW I have TOUCH QVGA, TOUCH PRO (VGA) and TOUCH DIAMOND(VGA) for your testing needs. They are all my personal phones so I can do as much testing as needed.

I only wish I got paid for doing this! LOL I'm trying to convince my boss to switch from AT&T so I can set him up with a TOUCH (I have 2 of them) that way I have more time for this at work! :D
