Re: WM 6.5 Kitchen QVGA and VGA Developer Edition
Well, still working on trying to identify what is causing the S.O.D. with Da_G's SYS and PPCKitchen for me, but in the meantime, I updated the SYS_23003_Common from AndrewSh's SYS for PPCK with the following:
Just rename to SYS_23003_Common.rar to use. Original post with the rest of the files is here ->http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread...14#post1016114 |

Re: WM 6.5 Kitchen QVGA and VGA Developer Edition
Finally, i got the 23001 working perfectly (96dpi) on my HTC P3400i after making my kitchen around platform rebuilder! Thanks to bepe! this is the best kitchen experience i ever had. No XIP porting, no sys relocation, nothing! Everything works out of box. :D
Anyways, i too replaced compime.dll from 21728 to get the input working properly. Total Commander i dont use, i use Resco Explorer and that works perfectly fine. Thanks to everybody who helped me, this is a quiet good build :) I feel the memory problem is also less with it, it will be great with a little more progress in this area :) |

Re: WM 6.5 Kitchen QVGA and VGA Developer Edition
here's my issue since flashing build 2300+. The screen will go black when I tap on it; to reboot I then either have to hit the power button or use the stylus. Once I get the black screen, it won't come back on without a soft reset or being repowered up. The problem is not consistent but it is pretty frequent. Anyone else having something like this?

More on background GWES.exe. It is responsible for drawing all the controls on the device like scrollbars, buttons, and checkboxes. It also handles passing window messages back and forth between applications and manages the WndProcs (functions you write to receive all input directed at your window) of all of the programs on the device that are displaying UI. This is probably why the issue is "fixed". But it ultimately makes me wonder if the WinMo developers intentionally made some changes here that caused this and these issues will continue. If that is the case, at some point, swapping gwes.exe may no longer work. Anyhow, you might want to try finding newer drivers for your device? I hope this isn't a problem for all QVGA users, but I guess we will see. |

Re: WM 6.5 Kitchen QVGA and VGA Developer Edition
This is really strange that you guys are getting so many issues here. My ROM is running great now with compime.dll replaced with one taken from 21780. Anyways, There are two changes i noticed in this build after using it for 1 whole day :
1. There are two new options to create Message/Contact groups in the Choose Contact Type dialog box which appears when we try to add a new contact. 2. The GWES.exe, although eats memory still, but it eats less and it returns most of it back when phone is in hibernated mode for more than 30 mins. I monitored today, GWES goes upto 7-9 MB (as opposed to 12-14 MB before) but after 30+ mins of hibernation, it returns to 5 MB :) I think we have been heard by Microsoft. This is a right step in right direction and i think when it comes out, 6.5 will definately have hope for all devices out there :) |

Re: WM 6.5 Kitchen QVGA and VGA Developer Edition
Well i have a full working 23003 sys with the AndrewSh's files on my elfin qvga. No issues, just for the battery icon: I delete the Large Tittle Bar Oem package, and all the icons work well instead of the battery one, it looks good (% style) but doesn't open the Energy screen. It's like the button is missed because if you go to the extreme of the area, opens the task manager. I used the reg edit from dsi69 to move the battery icon jet, but appear not to work with.
Some help, please? |
Re: WM 6.5 Kitchen QVGA and VGA Developer Edition
Hey guys, i have noticed one thing, in WM 6.5 there are big icons for standard apps like contacts, windows live, calender etc in form of png files which makes the display of icons in start menu nice. But i have many older applications and control panel items that show weird resized versions of their small icons as these were created with older menu in mind.
I tried to find but i failed in understanding how the png's and those files for which they show up in the start menu are related/linked coz i want to make icons for the this older stuff and make my ROM look a little better. Can anybody throw some light on this issue? |

http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...ns#post3996698 the way i do the icons for my apps is this....first find the images you want to use for your icons, put them all in a dll file. then place your dll file in the windows directory. get sktools(freeware) and it will allow you to map your .lnk's to the pics in the dll you created. then use total commander to copy/paste your .lnks from the start menu to your storage card. from there you can take the lnks and put them in each ext folder for the apps :) hope this helps. |

i cooked a rom for eten m700 & every now & then i get SOD (have to soft reset due to black screen & blinking network light) which appears like the phone is working but does not to "wake up" i noticed (and tested later to confirm),,,that this hapen when you have the internet explorer open (or running in the background) then the phone sleeps...if you press the button to turn the screen off you can press again to wakeup..only if left alone to sleep, it will not wake up & then soft reset is needed also it maybe related to active wifi at that time too..not sure i do not know if this helps any in your research for a reason...hopefully we will have a fix soon...thanks |

Yeah, I have a theme, which is a variation of the Nautilus theme, that I have been using for months and it was fine, but on the 23001 and 22003 sys's the backgrounds are grey in some areas that should be white. Have the reg entries changed over the last couple sys's? |
