if you've still got grey and don't wanna reflash, give this a try. soft-reset required afterward

*seems to take care of some, but not ALL of the grey.

Anyone here uses ervius visual kitchen? ..

I'm experiencing this:
- Not sure but looks like that the .provxml files are not loaded on boot

This because task manager shortcut not created and default theme not loaded on 1st boot "And so never"

Any idea what might be the cause? ](*,)

OH! I see. I must have mistook what you said since you mistook what I said. Whoops. At least we are both on the same page now:thumbleft:

I had that problem when I tried to post with the visual kitchen once. Im not really that familiar with that kitchen, so I don't have an answer, but at least you're not alone..

@joojoobee666: Lol. it seems so. Buddy i have one more question for you. As you know i use HTC Gene which is based on an OMAP850 200 Mhz teeny weenie proccy with 64 MB RAM and 128 MB ROM. I have heard about Spin Lock Patching a lot, but i am unable to figure out that is this applicable on my device, and how should i do it, if its possible at all? Can you throw some light or direct me to some place where i can read about it?

Thanks in advance! :)

Go to no2chems site, and download the app. Dump your xip with XIPPort, and spinlock the files that no2 states on his website. Rebuild your xip.

Then spinlock your oemdrivers folder too.

Hey Indagroove, thanks for the info buddy. Really appreciate it. But what i also like to know is that is this Spinlock patching applies to all devices with all processors, or is it just for some specific series of processors, or whatever?

is anyone having trouble connecting to Windows Mobile Device Center with 21820?

I also have the ROM built and i have the old menu's etc, but didn't have that with the 21815 build? What do i need to replace in the 21820 from 21815 to get the correct themes and menus?

any help is greatly appreciated...i read the past posts on the subject, but they didn't make complete sense to me. If someone could explain it to me in laymens terms i would be EXTREMELY greatful.

if you're having wmdc issues, you may need to flash back to shipped.

i am going to try and replace the activesync with the driver from 21815 to see if that will fix the issue.

Old menus are a direct result of old .tsk files. Use the new ones.

Well, i tried to patch the SpinLock in my nk.exe/s0000 and OEMDrivers folder. The phone reboots when its just about to show the windows mobile splash screen. So i guess its not for me, or any other OMAP 850 user for that matter. Also, the no2chem's site also talks about ARM v6+ processors only.

Replacing the \Shell\actsync.dll did not fix the issue on connecting through WMDC. Are there other files/modules that I need to replace in order to get activesync to work? It worked fine on my 21815 build, but won't connect with my 21820 build.

Thanks, just wondering has anyone made a cab of the newer Office for WM ? I'd be happy with a cab from the final of 6.5. I'm sure it's not much but, it's the app I use a lot on my device and if there is minor perfomance or features on it, it would be worth upgrading.

If anyone could provide Office from one of the newer builds (in a cab), thanks !!!!

sounds like the wrong xip for the phone to me, patching the SpinLock is pretty strait forward. I never had a problem with it.

here is the office cab file from the 6.5 builds, but as was mentioned it doesn't really seem any different.

Hi there, in the 81820 build, I've found a strange symptom which is not found in the previous build. The battery icon in the top of taskbar sometimes will disappear. But after I click the taskbar and choice the battery icon, the battery icon will come back again and shows up in the taskbar. Does anybody also have the same syptom ?

Yes the patching is straight forward and it went well. XIP was taken from my own cooked ROM that is currently running on my phone, so that cant be the problem. But somehow it didn't worked. BTW, is your phone having an OMAP 850 processor?

Is there any possibility of getting this kind of thread made in to a sub forum? This thread already has 450,679 views and over 5,000 posts. Perfect for RSS? but you cant feed an individual thread. Is this something we just ask the mods about? If my thinking is off or this just requires to much time/work feel free to smack me across the face with a mackerel. I just know this is one of those threads I cant stop myself from checking 5 times a day.

same here too. Doesn't work for wizard too, hangs at 2nd splash screen. I think it doesn't support older devices :(

You can "subscribe" to the thread. You will then get an email of every new post. I do, and it's nice since my phone syncs to my exchange server. So it's just as good as an RSS feed to me.:thumbright:

The 219xx branch is real and based off of the 217xx builds. According to Da_G this branch is used for feature testing. The tested features were then backported to the 218xx branch. As far as the grey? I don't know.
