I downloaded Spb and am backing up as we speak (type).
I wouldn't recommend SPB either at this point, go with the latest version of Sprite.

That's not what I want to hear. Why wouldn't I want it now?

It restored the fact that i had text messages, but it didnt restore the messages themselves. Tf3d was showing 1/25 messages but they were just blank spaces.
This happens all the time--ever since Windows Mobile 6.1 was released, with threaded messaging. It's hard to get it to restore properly. Every WM6.1 base build seems to react slightly differently. Some don't show anything, and some just don't re-thread the messages.

Typically, they just don't re-thread.

If you change your view to NON-threaded, all your messages will be back.

Sounds like it works just like PIMBackup.

Re: HTC Back up

So, did anyone get the "full" to work? I'm backing up my phones to switch over to two new ones. I'm too cheap to buy software, so it looks like I'm stuck with this, right?

Anyhoo, I'm just trying to figure out what the "full" option actually does or doesn't include. I've used the PIM option with great success before, FWIW.

Full backup did not work for me, it did restore my contacts, but that was about it, I would not rely on it. SPB or Sprite seem to be the most used and I have seen several people post on here how SPB did not work 100% of the time for them but Sprite Backup did. Each program offers a 10 day trial time, if you want to try them out before purchase.

Re: HTC Back up

Yea I went to their site and didn't see it either. OP where did you get this program from? If it is a legitimate HTC program where on their site can it be found? I want to get a free program just to back up mainly my text messages. Everything else is on my SD card. I have my contacts in my outlook so I am not concerned with backing up those.
