Re: texting & 160 word limit (verizon)

Re: texting & 160 word limit (verizon)
John, I have spent hours researching this same problem. PPC to PPC will be split into 2 messages. NONPPC to NONPPC will be split into 2 messages. But when it comes to NONPPC to PPC is where we run into the problem. I talked to a few Service Techs and they said its a known problem with the network. So its nothing that we can do to the phone itself to make it work. Hope that answers your question and if you find anything else out about this let me know. I really want a solution to this problem.

Yeah John there is no way to fix it. A lot of people have been trying with no luck. Check these two threads out

Re: texting & 160 word limit (verizon)
So basically, the only solution is to get her a different phone.
I sent my Son a real long sms today from my vz activated Sprint TouchPro & he received it as three seperate messages. If she had sent him the exact same message from the ENv he would have only received the first part. ~John |

Yup thats the only solution I have found bro. Wish I could give you a better answer though. It pisses me off too that I cant get more than 160 from NONPPC users.

If I gave that phone to his GF (so they are both using an xv6800), would that solve the problem?? ~John |

Re: texting & 160 word limit (verizon)
From what I have seen, the Verizon xv6800 has that texting limit in place, but the Sprint version does not. I know fore I used my Mogul to text a 1,900 character epic text once.. lol
