Anyone Know of Any Free Studio Software?

What I mean is: Any FREE software that I might be able to make beats with? I work at a studio, and it would be nice to be able to put down my ideas on the go.

On your PPC? That's crazy talk! You are not going to have much space, and space=quality for the most part. Your beats are going to be like 14 seconds long. I bet you can't wait for the 4GB miniSD cards to come out. I would guess that it would be a little tough to beat-match on a PPC as well, since all the buttons and controls are digital. I guess you might be able to get a little analog action out of the touch screen, but still would be pretty tough to get a clean product I think.....

Actually, I had a trial version of Griff Studio, and the beats can be compressed and work/sound quite nice on my phone. I just don't wanna pay $80 for the app.
