Boy, do I ever agree with that. The zooming function flat out sucks IMHO.

I have an 8 year old daughter playing soccer & a 19 year old son playing college football.

Yesterday, I was at my daughter's soccer game & I had the college website running on my phone as it gives running real time play by play updates on what is going on in the football game. The problem is, on the college site in the box where the play by plays is running the text is way too small to read on the PPC without zooming way in.

With skyfire, I would zoom it in about 4 levels so I could read it just fine but on every single play update it would jump back out to the original zoom setting & I would have to start all over again.

After this happened about six times, I switched over to Opera 9 & everything was fine from then on. In Opera, it was MUCH MUCH easier to read the constantly updated plays & the zoom level never changed from my original setting.

They must fix the zoom, it's one of those irritants that will eventually become a deal breaker...

No, I don't really care anymore at this point. I am so sick of skyfire resetting itself as the default browser (even though I have told it at least 25 times in a row that I DO NOT want it as the default) that I am going to delete it from my system for now.

It once again gave me the "invalid user name & password" error last night & as a result refused to open a link that was emailed to me.

I can't deal with a program that constantly interferes with my everyday operation of my system & I will wait until all these bugs are worked out before I reinstall it.

John....don't give up on Skyfire, because it's working fine on many systems, including mine. Of course, I don't like the zoom feature as it is, but hopefully that will be re-designed shortly. If you delete SF from you system with it as the default browser, you may have some issues.....hang in there, there's nothing out there that's perfect, yet.

Re: Skyfire Version 0.80 Beta

It is unfortunate that you all are having issues with Skyfire, IMHO this is still the best option available. There are drawback with every one of the top options but with the upgraded video and ability to download I have Skyfire set as my defalt brouser and I have been very happy with it. I This is a Beta so you should expest some issues but all in all for me the benefits far out way this issues.

I agree with you....it is the best available, and has really elevated the bar in mobile browsing. My issues are not with it being a "beta", as I too expect it to be less than perfect. However, the zoom function really needs to be re-designed and simplified. As is, it's just too much work...

The previous zoom version is much better, not sure why they decided to change the zoom but it suck. Hope Skyfire engineer heard our word and change it back

Re: Skyfire Version 0.80 Beta

I reverted back to an earlier version because I was having the same issues as everyone else. I like skyfire I hope they get the zoom feature ironed out. I like the zoom on opera mini the best out of all browsers.

Re: Skyfire Version 0.80 Beta

Opera Mini's zoom is basically a single step non-customizable zoom. That wont be beneficial in Skyfire when attempting to adjust your zoom ratio to fit various video sizes. What Skyfire should do is merge the two styles of zooming together, allowing the application to give its best approximation of a zoom area on the first click and then allowing the user to interactively adjest the zoom box as they did in previous releases.

Problem solved!
