the file of your thread coz is a cab. i just dled it

no, i am trying to open the zip file. i am getting the file from this link http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread...=sports+scores

when i click on it, it is opened with my winzip (evaluation version). when i double click on the file in winzip and about 30 different files are shown. some example of these files are pocket~1.000 , setupdll.999 , csport~1.032, and _setup.xml . There are way more, these are just a few of the first and the last one. none of these can be opened on my computer (windows cannot open this file) except the _setup.xml, but it is just some mumbo jumbo word doc. Im not sure if i should just be dragging all of these wierd files into my pda or what.

anyways, im going to keep trying but if i can get some tips on what i might be doing wrong i would really appreciate it. Thanks!

Some how you are opening the cab file. I remember that winzip treats cab files like zip file and gives them the same icon as a zip file, It can get rather confusing. I would recommend trying 7Zip for opening zip files.

Just to test it out i used winzip ( i normally use rar) and it unziped just fine...

I'm not sure what ur doing wrong bro. It should unzip a folder that contains the .cab file

Double click on the zip, and it should open and show the 1 cab file. Do not double click it. Drag it to your desktop from the winzip window. Once it is on your desktop open up your phone in explorer and drag it to the storage card. Once on the storage card you can find it on the device and click on it to install. I think your are double clicking the cab and this will not do it.

Maybe the step you're missing, hackermike, is the meaning of 'extracting' the CAB file. Try this: When you open the ZIP file in WinZIP, and locate the CAB, 1st drag the CAB out of the WinZIP window, to some convenient place like desktop. Then, you have extracted the CAB from the ZIP. Now you can continue by dragging the CAB to PPC.
