DVD Catalyst Free

Downloaded this to convert DVD and videos to be more formatted to "portable devices".
Just got done converting my new favorite movie from a DVD disc and now the file is being copied to my Touch's mem card.
I will let you all know how the movie looks playing on my Touch.

Re: DVD Catalyst Free

Well I converted the movie and it would not play on my Touch. Then I found infomation stating that the tcmp(sp) would need to be installed, so I did, and the thing STILL does not play

Gonna have to find a different app that will allow me to do this. Any recommendations?

Re: DVD Catalyst Free

What format did you convert the movie to? Try converting to xvid and that will play in your TCPMP.

Edit:
Try this, pick Generic device, DIVX, then hit Modify. Change the size to 320x240, and the format to xvid_mp3. Give that a shot.

Re: DVD Catalyst Free

It does not give a choice as to the format, only thing you can choose is the devise and then the screen size will be for that device.
For pocket PCs it converted to a .avi

Cybermonkey, sorry you are experiencing issues with DVD Catalyst Free.
While not all done with DVD Catalyst Free, it works the same as DVD Catalyst 3, and between the both of them, I've converted over 1000 dvd's with them without issues.
It would have been easier for me to assist you with the issue you are having if you would have posted it on my own forum on www.dvdcatalyst.com as well.

Which DVD are you trying to convert?
Did you try a different DVD to see if it was just an issue with the DVD itself?

Thanks,

Mitch,
DVD Catalyst

Yea I tried a different DVD. It converts just fine a .avi but just does not play on the phone.
But I was hooked up with a different app that worked for me. Thanks though.

But it doesn't matter, I found alternate method to put the movie I wanted on my phone, so call cool now.
