DVD Catalyst Free

Downloaded this to convert DVD and videos to be more formatted to "portable devices".
Just got done converting my new favorite movie from a DVD disc and now the file is being copied to my Touch's mem card.
I will let you all know how the movie looks playing on my Touch.

Well I converted the movie and it would not play on my Touch. Then I found infomation stating that the tcmp(sp) would need to be installed, so I did, and the thing STILL does not play :(

Gonna have to find a different app that will allow me to do this. Any recommendations?

What format did you convert the movie to? Try converting to xvid and that will play in your TCPMP.

Edit:
Try this, pick Generic device, DIVX, then hit Modify. Change the size to 320x240, and the format to xvid_mp3. Give that a shot.

It does not give a choice as to the format, only thing you can choose is the devise and then the screen size will be for that device.
For pocket PCs it converted to a .avi

I have a few videos formatted in mp4 and they play right on windows media player..

There are plenty of free dvd ripping freeware out there..cant think of any off hand..

Once you rip the dvd..I would use Super to convert it to mp4... Ive used Super for a while and love it. Everytime I want to convert any audio\video file it does exactly what I need to do. Lots of options..and its free also.

Link for Super.
