WeatherPanel Problems

I recently jumped on the WeatherPanel bandwagon and really like it. It worked great for me as I was moving away from HTC and HHC and into UL and rlToday. My problem is that, even after working fine for the past week or so and no new software being installed, I just had my Titan refuse to boot after a soft reset. It just sat at the loading screen (for more than thirty minutes).

So after a quick search in these forums, because I seem to remember reading about this issue before but couldn't find it, I bit the bullet and did a hard reset. I am currently working to get my sweet little Titan back up and running enough to go home and install all my stuff again. Yeah, I didn't take the time to do a recent backup. [smacks self]

So the question, is there a fix for this? I can only imagine that it is due to WeatherPanel as I have been running UL and rlToday together for at least a month now. But I only started using WeatherPanel just recently. Other than that, there have been no other changes to my Titan. I really like WeatherPanel and want to continue to use it, but not if it is going to do this to me again...

As always, any help is appreciated.

Re: WeatherPanel Problems

Hmmm...I would have to say that's it's probably not a WP problem. Weather Panel is pretty harmless (except for messing with your fonts sometimes). I've been running it for over 2 years now and have encountered few problems (certainly nothing that effects your whole system how you described it).

You can always uninstall it and see how your phone behaves and then reinstall it. If you did a hard reset and you think it's the culprit then I would install WP first before anything else.

late,
Coz

Re: WeatherPanel Problems

Thanks Coz. Since my phone is used for work, I am on call 24/7/365, and I have to have access to my email (Exchange) and the such, I think I will hold off for now. I am just perplexed as I am positive that I haven't installed anything since I installed WeatherPanel. Though now that I think about it I did unistall several apps earlier today. I wonder if maybe one of the apps didn't uninstall correctly and FUBAR'd my Titan up...

Re: WeatherPanel Problems

I had the same problem with the Wp. With Kitchen 6.1 on my Mogul It will not boot.. Remove it and all is good. Got me, if it wasn't for SPB Pocket Plus "boot in safe mode" feature I would have had to H/reset as well.

Re: WeatherPanel Problems

I have been using WeatherPanel and rlToday for several months now. I have been using WM6.1 for over a month as well. The only program that has locked up my phone on boot is HTC Home. When flashing my phone, I don't even select HTC Home. You might want to install safemode or another safe boot application, at least until you figure out the issue.

Re: WeatherPanel Problems

Yeah, I have spb Backup installed, I just hadn't done a manual backup and never let it run on a schedule. Otherwise I could have done a hard reset and then done a restore after rom update (new in version 2) and not lost a thing.

I think I'll have to let it run on a schedule for awhile...

Re: WeatherPanel Problems

There is a problem with weatherpanel and no2chems 5067 build, however I do not beleive that is the same issue you had, if it was you wouldn't have booted the first time after installing wp.

I am thinking it must have been the uninstalls...
