Is this a Touch or a WM6 problem? Will SPB be fixing this problem so that the running processes can be stopped before backups?
According to SPB this issue is on certain WM6 and 6.1 devices(particularly Touch and Titan, but HP devices as well from what I read). Apparently unchecking IS the fix. You can just stop the processes with running programs, but I just run it. It works that way, and backups work, so as far as I'm concerned problem solved.

Re: SPB Backup 2.0 released...

I have upgraded my stock rom from 3.35 to 3.56, and the data back up from SPBackup appears to be a success. But I have to admit, it took "forever" to sync my 46MB of data. It took literally 2 hours I think. Just thought I'd share my experience with others....

Basically, use your device now, run a backup, and that will be EXACTLY the way your device will be after you use the backup file to restore it.

Darn! Just got back from the Sprint store with a new (refurb) Mogul and tried to do a full restore only to discover that the PIN wouldn't unlock the phone?!!? Looks like my only choice now is to manually reinstall all my apps, something I really was hoping to avoid. Has anyone discovered a way around this? Has Spb found and resolved this problem?

Re: SPB Backup 2.0 released...

I've had no problems with 2.0.1 They seem to have listened in their forum to bug reports and addressed each one with a fix. To me with a Touch/Vogue, the desktop backup of the files is a godsend. It will come in handy the next time my SD crashes!

Re: SPB Backup 2.0 released...

I have a question. Hope its not a silly one. The new spb backup software (2.0.1) claims that it "will restore from the archive even if the data has to be moved to a new device or rom". Does that mean it will only restore from a mogul to a different mogul, or from lets say a mogul to a touch/ touch diamond/pro? Just curious cause i love my moguls softwareand setup, but im gonna be getting a new device when they arrive. My apologies if my question was dumb or already answered somewhere else. Thx, dschoenike

Don't appologize for asking a question, that's what were all here for!!!

I believe you can install from one device to the other, but aside from maybe the PIM data and possibly the apps, I don't know if I would want to do a full restore, depending on the differences in the devices, you may lose unique system tweaks/add-ons.

I know it isn't a very definative answer, but I don't think I would do more than a PIM restore, and maybe think about the apps (of course that is the fun of a new device for me...the setup), so I can only say that in theory is should work.
