Re: SPB Backup 2.0 released...
I have upgraded my stock rom from 3.35 to 3.56, and the data back up from SPBackup appears to be a success. But I have to admit, it took "forever" to sync my 46MB of data. It took literally 2 hours I think. Just thought I'd share my experience with others....

Re: SPB Backup 2.0 released...
Basically, use your device now, run a backup, and that will be EXACTLY the way your device will be after you use the backup file to restore it.

Re: SPB Backup 2.0 released...
I've had no problems with 2.0.1 They seem to have listened in their forum to bug reports and addressed each one with a fix. To me with a Touch/Vogue, the desktop backup of the files is a godsend. It will come in handy the next time my SD crashes!

Re: SPB Backup 2.0 released...
I have a question. Hope its not a silly one. The new spb backup software (2.0.1) claims that it "will restore from the archive even if the data has to be moved to a new device or rom". Does that mean it will only restore from a mogul to a different mogul, or from lets say a mogul to a touch/ touch diamond/pro? Just curious cause i love my moguls softwareand setup, but im gonna be getting a new device when they arrive. My apologies if my question was dumb or already answered somewhere else. Thx, dschoenike

![]() I believe you can install from one device to the other, but aside from maybe the PIM data and possibly the apps, I don't know if I would want to do a full restore, depending on the differences in the devices, you may lose unique system tweaks/add-ons. I know it isn't a very definative answer, but I don't think I would do more than a PIM restore, and maybe think about the apps (of course that is the fun of a new device for me...the setup), so I can only say that in theory is should work. |
