Re: C-ApiSRO - Sirius/XM Satellite Radio for PocketPC (PPC)
Awesome program. Works great. I've been looking for a working Sirius radio application since for some reason neither Skyfire nor Opera on my Omnia can run the Sirius Internet Radio. Thanks! (First post)

Re: C-ApiSRO - Sirius/XM Satellite Radio for PocketPC (PPC)
dmagalhaes, this can be a bit tricky, it depends on how your phone is set up. Power settings and such, 3rd party screen protectors etc. I found that if you are using TCPMP to stream the best way to avoid this is to configure one of your buttons to turn off the screen with a hotkey. In TCPMP go to Options/settings/select page/hot keys, scroll to the bottom and you will find screen on/off. Set it to a button that you would like to use to turn the screen off while using tcpmp(i use the action button). This will blank the screen but keep the player running in the background. If you are using wmplayer then you will have to look at other settings in your phone. Hope this helps!

I too appreciate the fact that you are still looking into this. I had been making due with SiriusWM5 through TCPMP but I just updated to the latest NFSFAN Rom last night and now I can't get that to work either. I'm stuck listening to CBC Radio in my office. I need my Stern back.

@Dmagalhaes: I'm currently running Blazingwolf's 6.5 ROM and used Adrynalyne's 6.5 previously, both CC02 and CF03, and have no problems w/ this program. Try going into settings in the program and check turn off back light... and have 30 sec. That's what mine is set at and I rarely if ever have a problem.

Re: C-ApiSRO - Sirius/XM Satellite Radio for PocketPC (PPC)
I have really enjoyed playing with this software, thank you. however, i find that in practice, it does not work for me. I like to run for 30 or 40 minutes each morning. I guess I run in and out of "better" internet coverage, because when I run I lose the sound for sometimes a few minutes at a clip. (Even with EV). When I'm stationary it seems to work flawlessly.
i have a suggestion, if possible. Can the program be made to download and buffer the stream? Maybe have an optino to download 5 or 10 minutes worth ahead of the streaming, so that it has the ability to seem like it's not missing a beat? Alternately, it would be nice if the program could wake up at a preset time, download and capture an hours' worth of programming, and then save it for offline listening. I don't care if I hear Howard Stern on a 5 or 10 minute delay - or even an hour later, it's better than 5 minute gaps during. Pete

Re: C-ApiSRO - Sirius/XM Satellite Radio for PocketPC (PPC)
I'm sure they could do that easily enough, but then your audio wouldn't start for 5 to 10 mins. The stream is real time, you can only read it in real time, you can't read ahead. You buffer is equal to the time it takes to start the stream (more or less)

Re: C-ApiSRO - Sirius/XM Satellite Radio for PocketPC (PPC)
I am running a Touch Pro with MightyRom 6. Captcha doesn't show up in Landscape. No big deal, I am just happy to have something that works. With as crappy as the satellites are sounding these days, I may as well just drop to internet only and save myself a few bucks. Hits 1 on CDMA sounds about the same and maybe a little better than the birds, on WiFi your app slaughters the satellite service. Thanks Much to all involved. I guess Sirius thought it be safe to release an official App for Iphone because most Iphone users won't notice the Audio quality difference.
Even Better, it's not toasting my battery. Sirius WM5 on my 6800 with stock roms drained my battery in about 30 minutes; thanks again to all involved. |
