Confused about Sprint Navigation

Just got the Moto Q 9c. I plan on upgrading my data plan from the Access pack to the Navigation pack. After that can I just use Sprint Navigation or do I have to also buy the program? Does it come on my phone for free. I there a monthly charge or do i just need to pay the $20/mo. data plan.

Thanks, love the site

I was recently informed that the name got changed to Navigation Pack. It used to be a fee to download, then a monthly fee. I think is installed on your model of phone, and if you get the navigation pack there is no extra charge.

I can double check in the morning when I go to work...

Edit: this is off sprint.com and here is a link for more info....

http://www.nextel.com/en/services/gp...vigation.shtml

Pricing
Unlimited Sprint Navigation is bundled into the Power Vision Navigation and Ultimate Packs

Other data plans include 24 hour access to Sprint Navigation for $2.99/day (good for use within 24 hours) for customers with Power Vision, Vision or PowerSource plans or unlimited access can be added for $9.99/month on Vision devices.

Re: Confused about Sprint Navigation

I did see that on the website, but a friend of mine has a different phone that is also gps enabled and he does have the navigation data plan, but keeps being asked to buy "for a day" or "for month" subsciption to the plan. That is why i am confused. I don't want to pay for it twice. Why would i upgrade my plan if i am going to pay for it twice.

Re: Confused about Sprint Navigation

Does the Q have gps? (never used one). Anyway, I had a terrible problem with that on my mogul. I honestly don't know what happened but all of a sudden it stopped asking. I've heard you need to call sprint and if you have the navigation plan already, tell them to enable the damn thing on your account. Then it wont ask for monthly fee/per day fee.

Yep 9c has GPS. I have been messing w/ Live Search. I think that is incredible. Can't wait to use one that actually talks to you.

Re: Confused about Sprint Navigation

I have the ultimate vision pack a retentions deal for $5.00. Do you guys think I should be able to get Sprint Navigation for free? I asked Sprint chat and this is the reply they gave me. Obviously the touch doesnt have GPS yet (on Sprint) and I think I should get it for free. I am thinking about waiting until Sprint releases their new rom before calling trying to get it to work

04/27/2008 11:08:42AM Me: "On my XXX-XXX-XXXX I have the ultimate vision pack. Does that mean I should get free navigation?"
04/27/2008 11:08:50AM Me: "ok"
04/27/2008 11:09:12AM Agent (Talesha): "For account verification, may I please have the 6-10 digit pin number on the account or could you please answer your security question for me?"

04/27/2008 11:10:34AM Agent (Talesha): "Thank you, one moment please."
04/27/2008 11:11:40AM Agent (Talesha): "Are you referring to the GPS Navigation feature?"
04/27/2008 11:11:53AM Me: "yes."
04/27/2008 11:12:17AM Agent (Talesha): "One moment please while I research this information for you."
04/27/2008 11:13:15AM Me: "thank you"
04/27/2008 11:13:17AM Agent (Talesha): "May I ask what model phone do you have?"
04/27/2008 11:13:26AM Me: "HTC Touch"
04/27/2008 11:15:56AM Agent (Talesha): "The HTC Touch is capable for GPS but it is not included in the Sprint Unlimited Vision Pack."
04/27/2008 11:16:18AM Agent (Talesha): "You would need to purchase this feature at Sprint.com from the Digital Lounge."
04/27/2008 11:16:25AM Me: "Oh ok."
04/27/2008 11:16:35AM Agent (Talesha): "Have I resolved the issue that prompted you to chat with us today?"
04/27/2008 11:16:40AM Me: "well I guess you solved my problem"
04/27/2008 11:16:51AM Agent (Talesha): "Thank you again for contacting Sprint. We appreciate your business."
04/27/2008 11:17:02AM Agent (Talesha): "Have a great day!!"
