Re: JiveTalk Alpha

Thanks for the info on the update. Just ran the program and got the update. Very cool indeed. Love the emoticons. Now if they add a today plugin, this app will be fantastic.

Re: JiveTalk Alpha

agreed, but my MAIN Concern is battery usage. I have teh HTC touch Dual, and the battery isn't the greatest, so the more time the better (and yes, I have extended batteries & such. lol). I agree, a today plugin would rock .

Re: JiveTalk Alpha

The battery drain does seem better than the previous version and better than Palringo.

Re: JiveTalk Alpha

I agree. I'd just like to know if it's using battery preservation or if it's just turning off the screen? I know it's far from being the final product. But now I can get a whole day of leaving it on, without using it too much. Before I could barely get through the day . So I'm happy! hehe. Progress is progress.

I think it has something to do with the rom. When i was using build 5060 i also was getting the same error, but now that im on build 5066 its working great( i beleive it was working on builds 5064 and 5065) Im assuming its they way he built the earlier rom compared to the newer ones....give 5066 a try its a great imho.

Something similar has happened to me. I'll be able to log in all, however, if I ever sign off and try to sign back on it gives me the unable to load error? So then I uninstall and reinstall and it works fine until I log off again? I don't understand.

Re: JiveTalk Alpha

hmm that indeed is strange. Well, hmm... I have the 5.3.03 or 09 and the 5.3.13 installed, it works fine.

Can anyone please verify battery consumption algorithms in this 5.3.13 build? The battery lasts a lot longer, but not for all day usage. The last build 5.2, kept the device awake the whole time, even if you turned off the screen, it would still stay awake. I think now it allows teh device to sleep, but i'm not sure if there are any battery saving algorithms yet. Ideas?
