Re: Instant Messaging -which one are you using?
Got a question...do any of these messengers actually WAKE your phone for a new IM? I use OZ Instant Messenger that comes with Sprint and it only gives me the new IM's if the phone is actually awake...kinda sucks to have to keep turning the phone on to see if new messages have come in...

Every time you get a new message, it puts a big box in the middle of your screen asking if you want to view the message. GO AWAY, DAMNIT! Anyways, the way OZ is SUPPOSED to work, is yes, it will wake your phone--from stand-by. Not totally powered-off, obviously. In fact, you don't even have to run OZ for it to wake up on IM. OZ works with 'system' SMS messages, that your phone see and open up OZ and display the IMs. Easily the most power-conserving IM program. You might want to see if there is an updated version of OZ for the Touch Pro. -Steve |

I might suggest this... your battery will die like crazy if you have your phone wake up on every IM... You can set S2U2 to not activate while the IM window is open. This makes things easier--like if you are in the middle of a conversation. Your screen can still go dim, and you can check the messages with little hassle. Other IM clients let you pick the IM sound, which can be helpful too. As far as I know, the only way your phone will wake up is when it receives the hidden SMS... |

Re: Instant Messaging -which one are you using?
So I've been using Parlingo for a few days now on my touch but it loves to lock up. The only way I can get out of the lock up is to hit my END Call Key and get back to my touchflo interface. Everything works fine after that except I can't get back into parlingo without rebooting the device.
Any known compatibility issues? |

Re: Instant Messaging -which one are you using?
I am currently using EQO mobile. Its simple, clean, and allows a plugin on the start page. Doesn't have as many features as the others, but i found them so buggy that i got annoyed.

Re: Instant Messaging -which one are you using?
I've had Palringo on my old Titan and now on my Touch Pro and for some reason, every time I try to log in, all it says is "Reconnect Pending > Logging in > Reconnect Pending" and that just goes on and on and on and on..... i once let it sit for twenty minutes, and it still does it. Is this a common problem?
And to answer the OP. I typically use AIM and Live Messenger on my phone. Until I can get Palringo to work.
