Got a question...do any of these messengers actually WAKE your phone for a new IM? I use OZ Instant Messenger that comes with Sprint and it only gives me the new IM's if the phone is actually awake...kinda sucks to have to keep turning the phone on to see if new messages have come in...

Anyways, the way OZ is SUPPOSED to work, is yes, it will wake your phone--from stand-by. Not totally powered-off, obviously. In fact, you don't even have to run OZ for it to wake up on IM. OZ works with 'system' SMS messages, that your phone see and open up OZ and display the IMs. Easily the most power-conserving IM program. You might want to see if there is an updated version of OZ for the Touch Pro. -Steve |
