I made a cab to fix all the file associations and the icons.
****This does not remove Opera 9.33/5. It only restores the file associations/icons****
I just finished adding all the icon corrections into the cab. Let me know if there is anything that doesn't work or need to be corrected.

Yes it would but in Opera 8.65 you can de-select it as the default browser. In the Opera menu.
