mini usb port as an input port

i was wondering if you could connect stuff to a ppc through its mini usb port. like if you wanted to connect a thumb drive to it you would just need a cord that would link a regular usb to a mini usb port and the ppc would see it. you might need a program though. please tell me yalls thoughtps yes im from texas

Short answer: It isn't possible.

Longer more informative answer:

USB is designed with a Host/Peripheral interface. PPC's are generally designed with only Peripheral chipsets, so in order for it to communicate over the USB port it requires a Host device (your computer) to control the connection. Additional software couldn't help, as the hardware is missing necessary functionality.

Over at acidmod they have just got a usb drive to connect to a psp give unlimited room on the psp. They have not yet released info on how they did it. I think that the way they did it on the psp will be posable for the ppc with custom software.
